Bush regarding Lay: "my hope is that his heart was right with the Lord"

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,202459,00.html

<snip>

Bush called Lay, who was a friend of the Bush family and a large donor to the president's campaign, "a good guy." He said he was shocked to hear both about the Enron scandal and Lay's death this week from a heart attack at age 64.

"I was really surprised," Bush said on a cable news show. "You know, my hope is that his heart was right with the Lord and I feel real sorry for his wife. She's had a rough go and she's now here on earth to bear the burdens of losing her husband, a man she loved."

The president said he planned to write Linda Lay a letter expressing his condolences.

2. ironic
Ironic, since Lay's heart obviously had some serious problems! Maybe Bush's lord prefers malfunctioning hearts.

8. Am I the only one...
who imagines that Linda's first words at being told KennyBoy was DOA were:"THank God"? Somehow I believe she'd much prefer the role of forlorn widow to that of the wife of a federal prisoner. For one thing, she'd never be able to figure out what to wear on visiting day.

9. That and word that the family would probably keep the $43 million
...probably gave her great comfort.

(I really hate being nasty like this...but the Lays exhausted my sympathies long ago. Reap it, Linda.)

5. If I ever see Linda Lay in person
I will tell her to her face that her husband was a criminal and a terrorist and that I had a big-ass celebration when he CROAKED!! Then I would laugh.

I would tell her that right to her face, right in the middle of her mourning.
