Cindy Sheehan is at it again - Yeah!
http://campdemocracy.org/

Cindy is setting up Camp Democracy at Fort Fed Up on the National Mall in Washington. I can't believe it is almost a year since I was there protesting. She blew me a kiss across the lawn!

Cindy Sheehan to Move Camp to National Mall
Cindy Sheehan and activists in the growing peace movement plan to move Camp Casey to the National Mall in Washington, D.C., September 8 - 21. The camp on the Mall will carry the name Camp Democracy at Fort Fed Up. Organizers intend the camp to bring together peace activists with activists for social justice, united in demanding a shift of public resources from war to the needs of people. Participants will lobby Congress to end all funding of the occupation of Iraq, and will demand that Congress hold the Bush Administration accountable for the falsehoods that launched the war and the abuses of power here at home that have accompanied it. Camp Democracy is launching an outreach effort to include organizations in the planning of the camp's activities, which are all in the initial stages. Organizations already on board are listed on the website:

4. I love her for many reasons, but I think mostly for;
the fact that chicken hawks who wrap themselves in the flag, then deride and ridicule a mother who lost her son -and wants an answer - "WHY"?

5. I wish they were fasting for TRANSPARENT voting counting--and getting
our elections out of the hands of Bushite electronics corporations with their TRADE SECRET, PROPRIETARY vote tabulation software--because that's WHY George Bush has the power to send people to their deaths in Iraq. The American people DIDN'T WANT THIS, and it was shoved down our throats by another, even more devious stolen election. But then I didn't lose a son in Iraq, and I'm not there, in DC, and I'm not fasting. What moves those who ARE there, fasting, and camping in DC for democracy, is the immediate impact of the decisions of this illegitimate government. They are moved, spiritually, to deny themselves food. They are moved to bear witness and to keep those illegitimate decisions in peoples' consciousness.

I salute them! And we don't realize what we have in Cindy Sheehan--our own Gandhi in maternal form; a Martin Luther King, born of this holocaust; the Nelson Mandela of the 21st century and Bush's war. We have a person who is facing this evil square in the face, and has sacrificed everything to do this, to bring us home again, to our great progressive heritage and our roots in the Enlightenment, to bring us home to our own humanity.

I am glad to see that these peace activists are undefeated. I am heartened by their presence, bringing it all home to DC.

6. I'm going
I WILL be going to Ft. Fed Up if only for the last weekend in August before they pull up stakes and move to Crawford. I think participating will aid in my recovery from cancer, both physically and spiritually. I'm already becoming energized at the thought!
