1. "What can we do to stop this from happening?"
Realize that all not all things are "black/white" or are "soundbytes."

3. Oh Lordie Aegis, I have to rely on people realizing stuff?
Sometimes I get the feeling if every single wakable American (excluding fundies) educated themselves we still wouldn't know what to do. Sometimes I think the opposite is true. That we need to have better soundbytes, better framing. If we get the slower or more distracted people to vote for us, then we can put more money towards education and make more intelligent voters.

7. LOL!
Your opening line (subject) is a hoot!

It is sad to say in this "'10 items or less,' broadband, drive-thru" society, if the message is not 'short and sweet,' it is doomed to be lost. Want to win people over? Remember from grade school...KISS..."keep it simple, silly!"

My feeling are that some don't want to be educated because it is better to be numb, than in pain.

Just gives them one more enemy. They thrive on enemies.

6. Oh Swamp,
I hope that when they make "V" the sequel (remember that series?) you will get to do all the posters. George Bush will be the star.
