Does Anyone Else Have the Feeling that Osama bin Laden
is back in the game?

Because I certainly do. I think we might be able to blame the survival of bin Laden directly on Rumsfeld and his total inaction in Afghanistan for one month when he was up in the Tora Bora mountains. But who is paying attention to that?

Bin Laden in the one player here who could really make Bush and Rumsfeld look really really bad. And I'm sure he knows it.

We have had 3 tapes in what 2 weeks?

And we have also had some absolutely awful bomb attacks. That terrible one in Sadr City that killed over 60.

And now we have 3 Sunni mosques hit.

And a bunch of people kidnapped. We don't seem to hear much about the kidnappings do we? And we hear even less about whether the people have gotten back alive.

1. Just electioneering
Bushco Recording Company is in overdrive, releasing Bin Laden tapes in order to supplant all the other more serious bad news with his misadministration.

2. Hell, Afghanistan is hardly won.
"President" Karzai is little more than the super protected mayor of Kabul, all the Taliban has to do is wait for the Western forces to tire of patrolling the countryside then get a warlord or two on their side and begin to regain territory.

3. Afghanistan is going backwards right now. Not looking good
at all.

And not the escalating violence

The poppy crop this year is like an all time record. Pretty soon all of the worlds heroin and opium will come from there.

Is that success? I guess so if you are a poppy grower.

6. that department was just a shell. One of the first things
bush did after he ascended the throne was to cut the heart out of the Osama office. Read "Imperial Hubris"
