The lie went unchallenged by those stupid reporters. He said that the military has told him that there is a good probability that we could have shot down the missile. There is absolutely no basis for a wild claim like that. The missile defense program is utterly bogus, to so blatantly misrepresent it's capability is criminally irresponsible.

No, jr lied. It was exactly the same sort of lie he proffered about finding WMD when actually it was hydrogen generator trucks. And, sadly, it was the same reaction from the press. Whether it works or not makes no difference to jr. What does he care? He lives in a fantasy world of big expensive blue suits, state dinners, Graceland & shooting the shit at press conferences. He doesn't have time for reality. And even if he had the time, he'd avoid it, reality is "hard work".
