the many lies of GM's CEO on Blitzer's show yesterday (CNN)

Blitzer wasn't there, another male host interviewed the CEO of Gen. Motors.

can that man lie, they flew fast and furious. amazing.

I was doing things in the kitchen and couldn't take notes on the many lies but here are a few.

raising gas mileage in cars doesn't work. has been proven not to work.

GM makes SUVs because americans want them to.

bankruptcy is not on their agenda. they retired with benefits 35,000 employees, so no bankruptcy.

GM is going into hybrids but it will be slow until the infrastructure to service them is in place all over the country.

high oil prices not a problem.

and in 10 yrs from now he sees most cars still running fully on gas (not hybrids)

don't take my word for it - see the video of the show

his cheeks were red from lying.

1. The host was John King. He's been filling in for Wolff all week.
I didn't see the show. I had it on in the background, but wasn't paying any atention.

I agree with GM that they build the SUV's because americans wanted them, BUT, that was quite a few years ago, and GM has ALWAYS had a very difficult time changing ANYTHING! It has always taken them YEARS to turn the Co. in the direction the public has changed to!

I'm surprised to hear he believes cars will still be running on gas in 10 years, in the light of GM ust announcing a new prototype that runs on a fuel cell and lots of new technology! I just heard about it yesterday!

2. I don't know why GM would do it, but, they seem to be following
the wishes of the oil industry.
