Do you buy the FBI breaking news of Terror plot targeting NYC tunnels?

... not sure I do; the timing is too curious. Very advantageous for the GOP to install fear into the masses re terror just before November -- it's how they govern, through fear. I'm inclined to believe it when I see a terrorist tape telling me rather than more Bush appointees, colleagues, messengers who have "uncovered" the plot.

Can't have their RNC stoogeboy getting nasty press in the run up to November, can we? This kind of "terra plot" announcement replaces the sight of hapless Tom Ridge coming out and "changing the color" on us, like waving a flag before an easily distractable bull.

The timing of the announcement is entirely political. No doubt they have half a dozen or more groups of bozos, some already on ice, that they can haul out if the going gets too rough. Of course, you can never get any DETAILS about the plot, because it's all a big SECRET, ya see....
