If Baby Bush has his druthers the Lay family will pay no estate taxes
If we assume that the Lays still have a net worth that is higher than the estate tax exemption, and Bush wants to abolish all estate taxes, then the logical conclusion here is that Bush favors the Lays inheriting all of that money untaxed.

Of course, if it were up to me, Linda Lay would be forced to go on welfare and live in a shitty public housing project making minimum wage (which her president will not raise), and all of the Lay children of military age would be forced to enlist in the military and go to Iraq. But that's just me.

1. What did Linda Lay and the Lay children do?
Were they convicted of anything? Why should they pay for the sins of the father?

2. Linda Lay and her children ...
... should not have to 'pay' for the sins of the father.

By the same token, they should not be allowed to keep money that he stole from others.

If your spouse steals a million in cash from a bank and then dies, do you get to keep the money on the premise that it wasn't YOU who stole it?

3. Excellent point
Let them make their way on their own in George W. Bush's America, the president that Kenny Boy did so much to elect. Rugged individualism! Horatio Alger! And all that other mythical crapola!

4. Exactly. My sis in Houston was saying there are people there that
said Lay was great guy and that he gave alot of money to charity. My sis said, "Yeah, it was someoen else's money! How difficult of a sacrifice is that?"

6. Not to defend Osama or anything..but how is his money "blood money"?
His money comes from his families business for the most part and that is Engineering and construction. I don't see a connection.

7. Osama got his money honestly & used it to finance violent crimes.

Ken Lay stole most of his money & spent some of it on "good causes."

They can swap tales about their careers & causes at their secluded island retreat.

8. The original post was not so reasonable
The orginal post wanted the wife forced to go on welfare and wanted the children forced to enlist in the military and go to Iraq.

I think that is a pretty harsh attitude - unless you think the wife and children are guilty of something. If you want to be that "old testament" about things, may as well punish his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well. Heck, four generation should be enough to erase the blood debt.

10. No one can be "forced to go on welfare"

Even if they qualify for social aid, no one can force them to accept it.
