Chicago-area gangs and neo-Nazis in Iraq?

Hate Groups Are Infiltrating the Military, Group Asserts

A decade after the Pentagon declared a zero-tolerance policy for racist hate groups, recruiting shortfalls caused by the war in Iraq have allowed "large numbers of neo-Nazis and skinhead extremists" to infiltrate the military, according to a watchdog organization.

The Southern Poverty Law Center, which tracks racist and right-wing militia groups, estimated that the numbers could run into the thousands, citing interviews with Defense Department investigators and reports and postings on racist Web sites and magazines.

"We've got Aryan Nations graffiti in Baghdad," the group quoted a Defense Department investigator as saying in a report to be posted today on its Web site, www.splcenter.org. "That's a problem."

Graffiti referencing Chicago-area gangs is increasingly being found in Iraq, according to recent reports in the Chicago Sun-Times. The spray-painted gang art has shown up on everything from armored vehicles to concrete barriers and bathroom stalls, and some fear it may indicate an increase in gang activity in the military.

1. Having served for 9 years, and just recently getting out of the military..
I can assure everyone that there is no room and no quarter given to gangs of any kind in the military. A stupid individual can paint anything he wants and there might be a possibility of like-minded gang members to associate on their post or garrison after hours or during some off time. (We've seen this in Texas) But once deployed, the individuals in these units have no ability to organize or act out, except as individuals. Any sign of gang activity and they would be sent packing and discharged. I sent several home myself.

3. We are the invaders of Iraq. This simple fact will NEVER change.

That we are invaders supercedes any promise of peace and economic prosperity the US soldiers may bring.

The Iraqi's will never stop fighting the US. If there are US skinheads in Iraq is irrrelevant to Iraqi's.
