Here we go...Bush says he is frustrated with diplomacy...
Bush expresses frustration with diplomacy

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060707/ap_on_go_pr_wh/bush

CHICAGO -
President Bush expressed frustration Friday with the slow pace of diplomacy in dealing with North Korea and Iran and prodded world leaders to send an unmistakable message condemning Pyongyang's long-range missile test.

"You're watching the diplomacy work not only in North Korea but in Iran," the president said.

"And it's, kind of — you know, it's kind of painful in a way for some to watch, because it takes a while to get people on the same page," Bush said. "Not everybody thinks the exact same way we think. Different words mean different things to different people. And the diplomatic processes can be slow and cumbersome."

"All of us said, `Don't fire that rocket.' He not only fired one, he fired seven. Now that he made that defiance, it's best for all of us to go to theU.N. Security Council and say, loud and clear, `Here's some red lines.' And that's what we're in the process of doing," Bush said.

(end snip)

Yeah, Smirky, like Crusade means different things to different people...well maybe not, really.

Chucklenuts is either chomping at the bit to fire some rockets too, or Condi is holding out on him and that is why he is frustrated with diplomacy.

15. Yup. Lil' AWOL king LOVES ALL WARZ, as long as...
neither him, nor anyone in his family has to go fight (and risk their own lives) in them.

Lil' AWOL king wouldn't even show up for a 'medical.'

Shameful, isn't it?

2. Yeah, that diplomacy stuff sure can seem...
...slow and cumbersome. Particularly to someone with poor impulse control and a tiny attention span.

Much better to just cut to the chase and get to the exciting stuff: ratcheting-up international tension another few clicks and sending some more of our boys and girls overseas to die. Yee haw! Now that's what I call fun!

3. That's because diplomacy takes social skills
something Bush and his gang know nothing about. They haven't a clue how to be diplomatic, just how to bully and blow shit up.

5. Isn't diplomacy suppose to be a long term and ever-changing
work-in-progress. I guess Bush thinks we carry no diplomacy with Great Britain because they are and have been an ally for years. What a friggin' moran.

6. "Diplomat" is not
Edited on Fri Jul-07-06 07:23 PM by wicasa
a synonym for "asshole".

Bush Administration opinion to the contrary notwithstanding.

(a point previously made by someone I don't remember, most likely here on DU, with regard to the Bolton appointment)

The point, however, applies to Bush administration diplomatic appointments generally. There was also a minor flap in the past couple days about our ambassador to Germany not being able to speak German. I know that the Bush administration is not the first to appoint unqualified diplomats, but, as with many things, they have taken it to a whole new level.

7. The Repukes seem to forget how the Cold War ended
We simply allowed them to destroy themselves, not a shot fired. Reagan pretended it was his military buildup, it wasnt. It would have happened without a military buildup.

When you have regimes run by force they eventually fall apart. The Repubs use war to make their economy go, and to pay back the military industries that get them elected with millions in contributions.
Take away the military industry and their economies will fall apart.

8. In a related story, kindergardeners are frustrated with finger-painting.
The Fecal Fuhrer, C-czar Disgustsus, has recently learned to pronounce "diplomacy" and is now pretending he's obliged to teach it to others: people who know more than he even suspects exists. His hubris knows no bounds. The pathological narcissism of that sorry pile of protoplasm is appalling.

16. Different words mean different things...
He meant to say, the same words mean different things to different people. I guess that abstract concept really had a tough time finding a way through the destroyed synapses.
