2. Take away jobs created by defense spending, Bush's war and
government growth and things really look bad.
And let's not even talk about wages!

Edited on Fri Jul-07-06 07:38 PM by Roland99
thanks for the idea!

:)

And, actually, wages are starting to rise but they're barely keeping apace w/inflation.

23. Indeed it does. I just updated it with the new 1Q2006 data. It's WORSE.

The Bushoilini war on the working class is destroying ordinary people. Corporate "personhood" under this fascist regime is raping labor of the wealth it creates as never before seen in the US since immediately prior to the Great Depression.

What's particularly disturbing is the fact that "Employee Compensation" includes the ballooning executive compensation at 400-to-500 times the average worker. Thus, these data still don't fully portray the severity of the exploitation of labor.

4. Well thankfully, we have a robust economy
as evidenced by our job growth! :sarcasm: Hey, look at all the temp holiday jobs in Dec 05! We are doing well aren't we?

Move along - nothing to see here.

6. Well I am looking.
Unemployed since April I can tell you that there are jobs out there all right...if you want to work as a stock clerk at Home Depot or work at Chucky Cheese or Starbucks! Jobs that are equivalent to what I had are few and far between and the competition is fierce.

First time it took me 7 mos. to get back into IT.

The last time I got lucky and within 2 weeks I got a new offer (better pay even).

9. Well, it's a contract position vs. full-time but it will be long-term
and prospects are good now, in this region, for future long-term contracts.

I have to pay my own insurance but I can make up for that by working a couple extra hours/week.

10. I'm looking into qhealth.com , a "medical discount program"
and am praying for universal healthcare in the meantime. I see that San Francisco is moving to a universal healthcare program (mentioned in the paper today).

11. And how many jobs per month did the Clinton admin. get
credit for creating? 225,000? I don't remember the approximate number, but wasn't it around that?

24. yes it was around 229,000 average every month - without the 80,000 per mo
Edited on Sat Jul-08-06 06:02 PM by papau
of fake jobs that Bush now adds via the "birth death adjustment" for folks that just have not had time to get their new job creation found by the DOL survey. The 80,000 is the last 12 months average addition to the monthly job growth through this adjustment (the adjustment is a logical adjustment - the size of the adjustment is a Bush lie).

13. Here's another (longer term) way to see it.
Here's the (unadjusted) monthly private employment numbers over the past 40 years. Even the untutored, naked eyeball can see some of the massive working class destruction of the Bushoilini cabal.

Here's a clearer depiction of how the employment "growth" under the Bushoilini cabal has NEVER, not for even a single month, gotten above the average rate of growth in employment as seen in the fifty years before 43. It's abysmal.

17. you can really tell when the Republicans were in power.
When Democrats were in power they had downswings but they were not very deep or long-lasting. Reagan had a couple good years, but put us through hell for his first years.

I had no idea that Carter's job record was actually fairly good but it went south at just the wrong time.
