'Real deal' tunnel plot foiled- Distinguishing between real & fake terror.
'Real deal' tunnel plot foiled is the title of this piece on the CNN website front page:

http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/07/07/tunnel.plot/index.html

Mershon said the plan was "what we believe was the real deal," a scheme involving al Qaeda members on three continents.

'Real deal" as opposed to what? The "fake deal" that we had last month when the FBI busted a bunch of homeless people because they had brown skin? This administration is Peter and they have "cried wolf" one too many times. Even the hacks at CNN are trying to cover this stuff up. So, when a really horrendous act of terrorism occurs nobody is going to believe it. Great going Bush. The people have no faith that this maladministration can protect us or even wishes too.

1. Thought crimes
These guys, however many, plus the Miami 7. They got no stuff, they got no plan, they got no way to carry out this idea they're kicking around. So they're being arrested for thinking about it.

Thought crimes. It's really here. :scared:

3. So...
If you say that you want to blow up something, you can get arrested now?

CNN killed me this morning! They kept going on and on about this 'terror plot', making it seem like the guys had actual plans written out, bombs made, etc. Anything to keep the fear going.

5. Yep, it's the crime of "conspiracy."
So far, you can think what you like, but if you talk to someone else about a crime and if they engage with you in a positive way (rather than saying 'not interested or 'sod off'), you are both guilty of conspiracy to commit that crime. There are differing measures of intent that are applied depending on the jurisdiction, but it has long been the case that just talking about an anticipated crime is in itself a crime.

2. I no longer believe anything this misAdministration says. How sad is that?
Perhaps our intelligence and police forces DO manage to thwart an attack - at this point large numbers of people like me will be saying "yeah, rught. SUUUUURE you did.... Not"

My disbelief in anything the feds say now is so complete that EVEN if they said 2+2+4 I would find myself NOT ONLY CHECKING THEIR MATH - but wondering WHAT they were trying to deflect attention from or hide.

Sigh.

Not like the other BS crap that we've been feeding you for years. Right...I believe this administration and their corporate media enablers.

10. It's not a "real deal" unless all of the conspirators had new Jihad
boots and a video camera. Otherwise they are posers.
