They are now emphasizing that tunnel plot is the "Real Deal" |
|
"Real Deall" Tunnel Plot Foiled http://www.cnn.com/It's sad when government had to distinguish between the usual terror plots uncovered by the government, and the "real" terror plots uncovered by the government.

Instead of the book about the pet goat, somebody should send the WH copies of The Boy Who Called Wolf.

3. I just listened to Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince on audiobook |

The whole Stan Shunpike storyline made me think of Miami. Filling jails with made-up criminals to boost political image...

5. Lesson of the day: There are things you shouldn't joke about |
|
There should be no gray area when it comes to threats against our country and our citizens. These dip shits learned this the hard way.

8. They weren't the ones joking |
|
The whole thing was the joke. The idiots in Miami were all but handed a script written by the FBI and asked to read it for money. That's about as much of a plot as it was. I doubt any of them even knew what they were saying or agreeing to. The lesson learned is more like "don't say anything to anyone and just hope they don't decide to frame you next."

The FBI needed them to admit their intent on tape, and it needed to be very clear. I think that's what they got. A judge agreed they didn't need the means, intent was enough to charge them. A bomb can't be guilty of an attack, only the person or persons willing to use it.

22. The question is whether there was any intent |
|
outside of what the FBI convinced them to say. Would they have had any intent if the FBI had not coaxed them into having it? That's the whole point of entrapment--law enforcement convinces someone to commit a crime they would not have committed otherwise. I'm not sure these guys had any intention at all of doing anything other than what the undercover FBI agent told them to do. Causing crimes just so you can stop them isn't good police work. Except in the Bush administration, since Bush couldn't prevent a real terrorist attack if he had a memo on his desk warning it was coming.

I think you may be welcoming me, if so thank you. I've enjoyed the site so far, I've been reading for awhile. I agree with most of the opinions here. I'm a Firefighter, and take possible bombings/terror attacks personal. I don't want to see anyone get hurt or killed because of an attack, and damn sure don't want to get killed responding to one.

Maybe if we're lucky, the nice republicans will give us a list of the things we are PERMITTED to say.

Simply trust what they say, and enjoy your day at the mall. Go shopping. But listen to the news in case there is a terror plot discovered at your mall. Have a nice day.

13. There was a M*A*S*H episode |
|
A wounded GI (John Ritter) decides he's going to go home. He's seen too much war, too much death, too much pain. He takes Charles hostage and demands a chopper to take him to Kimpo, and a plane home from there. Klinger convinces the guy to take him instead of Charles, and swaps as the hostage. All night long they wait for the chopper, and the GI is losing blood the whole time. He finally passes out about half an hour before sunrise. Klinger tries in vain to keep him awake, alert, and threatening, but it's no use.
Klinger finally comes out of the hostage tent, carrying the now unconscious GI. "Look out!" Klinger says, "He could come to at any moment!" The staff moves in, frees Klinger, and tends to the GI.
Right now, I'm hearing the administration say, "Look out! They could formulate a plan at any moment!"
I wonder if you snuck up behind Bush and said "Boo!" real suddenly if he'd actually pee his pants on the spot. These fucking chickenhawks are such cowards, they're scared of an ant's shadow.

Jeebers. Like, people are going to be talking about this and saying, "Yeah, man, it's the real deal, as opposed to the rest of the phony bushit."
I agree about the flooding. Not possible. What a crock.

18. What bothers me is that the headlines on the internet say |
|
that the "FBI foiled the plot." More accurate: the FBI claimed they foiled the plot. It seems the press in no longer going to get into that pesky critical thinking and accurate reporting.
Tell us what the FBI said and let us make up our own minds. Why the insistence on deciding for us?

I am so sick of the terror alerts , i am at the point of if it happens then we will know if it true . Not that i want to see anyone die but come on already .
This is as close as you can get to predicting an earthquake and there is about as much you can do about it other than react in the moment .
I refuse to live in fear , I also have absolutely no faith that if there was a real attack planned that these criminals would be able to stop it . What do people actually think , do they think any terrorist is so stupid as to hold up a add or make it known what they intended to do in advance . It's not like a crime of passion , these things are planned out well in advance . I doubt if there is so called chatter , anyone knows including a potential terrorist that phones and computer are not the way to make contact .
