Is Jeb Bush Now Damaged Goods? Is He Still An Issue For the Future?
I would kind of assume that he was. Of course, I would have assumed that about Goerge after his daddy's miserable one term crapfest.

What do you think? Is Jeb still a Prez contender for the near future or has George's disasterous presidency killed the American apetitie for the Crime Family?

Made this when I thought he was much more of a threat. Not sure it is as applicable as it used to be.

1. They will put him in the back door as VP
Why? The War Machines and the Mega Corporations love George, he has been so good to them. Look at the oil companies profits since he's been president, he's the best thing ever to them. He keeps throwing tax breaks their way so their profits go up, up, up. Why wouldn't they want a repeat.

7. I think you're right.....
and I even heard this morning, WJ?, that the repukes will run McCain with Jeb as the VP candidate. Sickening scenario! However, even if these are the intentions now, hopefully after the Fall election the name Bush will not have the same allure as in the past.

2. I think most Americans are really tired of the name Bush!
HOWEVER, I keep hearing that Jeb is still a VERY POPULAR Gov in Fl!

I would think Jeb doesn't have much of a chance in the near future, but I'd keep my eyes on him. I don't trust this crowd at all, and if they can find some issue to push him to the top, they'll sure use it, whether it's legal or not!

3. I think he is still scary..
WAY scary because he is actually the bush that seems to have escaped the moron gene. And his wife is Latina soo... Well I can almost guarantee he will take florida. He was very strong and "leader-like" during the hurricanes of the past few years. If he goes national, there is a real chance he could be elected. Of course with BBV...that is almost assured if that is the path bushco wishes to go down...

11. latino rich vote, that is
They will only count the rich latino vote, the poor ones will be declared illegal.

I believe that Shrubbery fast tracks hispanic immigrant visas who appear to fit their profile of future Repug voter. The other immigrant/suspects are given delays or rejected on technicalities or sent back to border.

Their problem in S. Florida today is that the new generation of Cuban-Americans are less inclined to vote Repug like their parents.

I don't see them ever winning a fair election, but since when has that stopped them?

4. The SHEEPLE will vote for another Bush.
Bet on it. Even after two failures, they'll come back for more. Not in 2008, though, that's too soon.

5. Read Daniel Ruth's column
While Tongue in Cheek
Before you could say "Iowa Caucus - 2012," The Foundation For the Preservation of Dynasties had $1.9 million in its coffers.

To be sure that's a great deal of money, made all the more interesting by the fact nearly half of it has come from just two sources.

6. I remember asking a very similar question in 1993.
Maybe not in '08. The fundies usually need a cooling off period in which to forget all the crap the previous Bush did.

10. He's damaged in the sense that he's no longer presidential material
but as a VP contender, we can can still use his past against him--and cast him as the next Dick Cheney.

25. Don't Mean To Gloat
But I've predicted for months exactly what you'll read below. The Republican ticket in 2008 will be McCain/Bush. Read and weep:

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/columnists/orl-miket0606jul06,0,170330.column

<snip>

being McCain's vice president would make Bush a second fiddle. Bush is not a second-fiddle kind of guy, which is why he never considered a run for U.S. Senate.

But Bush might play that role to become president. And make no mistake: That is his eventual goal.

On paper, he is amply qualified, at least from a Republican perspective.

Bush has been a zealous tax-cutter. Florida's economy is booming. He has overhauled the education system. He ably got the state through an onslaught of hurricanes. His wife is from Mexico, and he speaks fluent Spanish. Religious conservatives love him.

If he had any other last name, Bush would be a front-runner for the 2008 Republican nomination. But given his brother's lagging popularity, the name that got Jeb where he is could stop him from going any further.

Diluting that name with McCain's makes it more palatable for a Bush-weary nation. It gives Jeb a chance to get people to look beyond the name.
