Jurors sentenced political consultant and ad producer Carey Lee Cramer to six years in prison Wednesday, after they convicted him the day before of sexually molesting two young girls.

Ten years probation and a $30,000 fine were also included in his sentence. And he will be required to register as a sex offender for life in any state that he lives in.

Cramer, 44, of Tucson, Ariz., was convicted Tuesday of aggravated sexual assault of a child, two counts of indecency with a child by contact and one count of indecency with a child by exposure. Jurors found him not guilty of nine additional counts charged in the same indictment.

Cramer’s victims were two girls related to one another who testified the abuse began when they were about 8 years old. The girls are now 15.

An anti-Al Gore television commercial Cramer produced in 2000 presidential election brought him national attention. The ad accused the Clinton-Gore administration of giving nuclear technology to China in return for campaign contributions. Cramer’s well-known commercial showed a young girl picking daisy petals and ends with a nuclear blast, a remake of a 1964 ad by Democratic President Lyndon B. Johnson’s campaign against Republican Barry Goldwater.

Karen HUGHES claimed there was NO connection to the Shrub campaign, that it was an individual effort. A wingnut who claims to have spoken to a CRAMER relative says he was told by this person that CRAMER had no clients for the ad, that he did it on his own to get attention---a spin that gives nice cover to the Shrubbites.

Pietro Aretino and his Sixteen Postures, 1524

The career break of Pietro Aretino (1492-1556) came when he wrote a mock last will and testament in 1516 for Pope Leo X's pet elephant, Hanno, complete with bequeathing the beast's genitals to one of the lustier cardinals. From then on, he became infamous in Italy as one of the lewdest and wittiest writers, the Renaissance mouth that roared.

In 1524, Aretino wrote sonnets to accompany the drawings of sixteen sexual positions by Giuliano Romano, Raphael's talented twenty-five-year-old pupil. Their collaboration produced one of history's most notorious works of erotic art.

Casanova in his memoirs mentions spending New Year's Eve 1753 with a nun doing Aretino's "straight tree" position, which he says featured the man standing and holding the woman upside-down for mutual oral sex.
