Notice The Wingnuts Aren't "Boycotting" China!
It never ceases to amaze me, their hypocrisy. Remember the "freedom fries" and how France was "the enemy" simply for thinking the invasion of Iraq was a mistake?

Now China (and Russia) go against the US re: No Korea's Nuke games, and there is a deafening silence. The Murkins continue filing into WalMart aka ChinaMart to buy a bunch of cheap, slave-produced crap. No boycotts! No worries! Even though No Korea HAS nukes and are actively goofing with them, it's not as big of a threat as Saddam's non-existnet WMD.

I DON'T GET IT!! Is O'Reilly's "French Boycott" still on -- and if so why?

9. "Hoist by his own petard"
"Hoist by his own petard"

The word remains in modern usage in the phrase to be hoisted by one's own petard, which means 'to be harmed by one's own plan to harm someone else' or 'to fall in one's own trap'. Shakespeare coined the now proverbial phrase in Hamlet.

In the following passage, the "letters" refer to instructions (written by his uncle Claudius, the King) to be carried sealed to the King of England, by Hamlet, Rosencrantz, and Guildenstern, the latter being two schoolfellows of Hamlet. The letters, as Hamlet suspects, contain a death warrant against Hamlet, who will later open and modify them to instead request the execution of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. Engineer refers to a military engineer.

There's letters seal'd: and my two schoolfellows,
Whom I will trust as I will adders fang'd,
They bear the mandate; they must sweep my way
And marshal me to knavery. Let it work;
For 'tis the sport to have the engineer
Hoist with his own petar: and 't shall go hard
But I will delve one yard below their mines
And blow them at the moon: O, 'tis most sweet,
When in one line two crafts directly meet.

After modifying the letters Hamlet (rather improbably) escapes the ship and returns to Denmark.

The verb "hoist" is an irregular past tense of the obsolete verb "hoise," meaning "raise" or "lift." The same form is used in "burn" and "burnt."

The phrase is usually misquoted as "see the engineer hoist by his own petard" and is taken to mean "the hangman hanged with his own rope," or, as in Roadrunner cartoons, a rope, put out to catch something, entangles and hangs the one who set the trap, while the audience "sees" (watches) in amusement.

Hamlet's actual meaning is "cause the bomb maker to be blown into the air with his own bomb," metaphorically turning the tables on Claudius, whose messengers are killed instead of Hamlet.

3. They will only boycott that which they don't need - they need WalMart.
And thus, they need China.

One would think they would boycott China cuz they're communist, but apparently that only matters with Russia and Cuba.

One would think they would be upset that our dent is owned mostly by China, since they're foreign AND communist, but apparently not.

5. Because they don't like wine, frog's legs, and snails
...and that is what they associate with France. Why? Because they're STOOOOPIDDDDDD!!!!

They quell the cognitive dissonance by ignoring other things created by or boosted by France, such as cycling, which their Dunce loves, Democracy, which is our system of government, red, white and blue (or blue, white and red) flags....and when you can't ignore, rename! Thus, freedom fries!

Bush's chief ally in Michigan, gubernatorial candidate Dick DeVos, cut jobs in Michigan and invested millions of dollars in Communist China as head of Amway.

7. The Bush Cabal and the Godless Red Commie Chinese have a "thing"
Edited on Sat Jul-08-06 01:31 PM by SpiralHawk
The Bushes -- Marvelous Marvin, Silverado Neil, and other cronies, are Totally into Bed with the Reds when it comes to seeing them America's debt (so they have USA by the shorthairs), and otherwise making Hay for the "Elite."

"All pigs are equal, but some pigs are more equal that others." - BushCo Motto

Neil and Marvin hit the Jackpot in China

On still another front, many people were alarmed when W came down in favor of the People's Republic of China, against a democratic referendum in Taiwan. But his support of China became suspect after it was discovered that well-connected Chinese firms were funneling huge amounts of money to his brothers, Neil and Marvin, according to Margie Burn in the Dec 16, 2003 Online Journal.

10. I think I've got this particular bigotry figured out
You see, the French look just like us. They just stubbornly refuse to speak English and act like us. People who think in stereotypes are made very, very uncomfortable by people who look like them but who don't think, talk, or act like them. It drives them even wackier than they alreay are.

The Chinese are another matter. They don't look like us so there's not that big a problem. Stereotypical thinkers EXPECT them to be weird, and they deliver.

(some days I have entirely too much time on my hands)

15. Also Shrubby Has Got Us Endebted With China
So they basically hold all the cards, a situation the wingnuts aren't upset with at all.

For some damn reason...basically they need their gurus to point them at something to be mad at, since they are all in biz with cheap Chinese labor somehow, they ain't pointing that way.

18. That's my constant cry! WHY do they give CHINA a free pass?
I mean.. for some reason these repubs who claim to love Jesus, and cry over religious persecution in AMERICA, seem to have ZERO problem with an administration that is now beholden to CHINA.. who is all about religious persecution. They're all full of shit. They care about two things... money and their money. That's it.

19. Is It True They Have FORCED ABORTION?
Isn't that the one abortion issue that everyone is on the same page with? That it should never be forced....is that true or a RW lie that they enforce one child policies by forced abortion?

If that is true why the hell do they shop at Wallmart and boycott FRANCE?
