What does this photo remind you of?

A British helicopter ferrying Japanese troops flies from the Japanese military base, as the sun rises in Samawa, 270 km (160 miles) south of Baghdad July 7, 2006. Helicopters and more transport trucks left the Japanese military in Samawa early on Friday as part of the Japanese plan to pullout troops from Iraq. Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi announced earlier this month that Japan would withdraw its roughly 550 soldiers, engaged in reconstruction and humanitarian work, from their base in Samawa in the southern province of Muthanna.

4. Actually, it's this photo. A bit less emblematic, but more accurate.

6. It reminds me of photos of Afghanistan in the eighties.
Russian helicopters had total air superiority yet they left with their tail between their legs.
