The Republicans Have a Plan - And it is Called FEAR
The GOP 2006 strategy is clear: The "culture war" is no longer a winner...it is time to strike the fear of "evil" back into the hearts of the American people. It is time for dire threats that aren't threats to be hyped in the media and it is time for terrorism threats to emerge on a weekly, if not daily basis.

America, be afraid - it is election year 2006 and the Republicans have a plan: Striking FEAR in the heart of every American.

4. I hope they do use it. Because it won't work again. People
can only be afraid for so long and they either "fight or fly". In concrete terms, that means they will either go into action or they will tune out.

It won't work. They've gone to that well too often, imho.

7. The strategy takes advantage of human nature. It works too well.

Fear is a tremendous cognitive agent that motivates predictable classically conservative modifications in behavior.

Consider it in your life--Normally you stride confidently about your living room. The light goes out with a power outage and your confident strides become tentative probings.

Consider it in the public sentiment--Normally you wouldn't think of wanting someone looking inside your purse every time you enter a public building. Fear strikes and suddenly all manner of surveillance is ok, and political correctness spreads to the sort of messages your t-shirt can have when you go into a shopping mall.

FDR recognized this back during the depression when conservative voices were pushing for a dictatorship to take control of the economy. Roosevelt's classic phrase "We have nothing to fear except fear itself" ought to be the message to the American people.

But instead, with an administration replete with fear mongers and brinksmen, it was a given that Rove would choose to exploit the attack on the WTC. Rove essentially turned off the lights which drove the population to the right.

3. But a couple of guys talked about blowing up the Lincoln Tunnel
I sure hope they don't revive the terralert system. During the intermission, I forgot what the colors meant. We should just go Red 24/7. I'm starting to count terrorists instead of sheep at night.

8. Look for them to "recover his body" this October.
That is as long as the Democrats manage to fuck up this particular "wet dream" of an election cycle. If that is the case look for him to be "killed" in October of 2008.

Are the amerikan sheeple too stupid to live?

6. I love this part
Since election 2004, America had faced few terrorist related threats. Suddenly, now that campaign 2006 is underway and Republicans are trailing in polls, barely a day passes without a new threat of some sort being blared across the airwaves. The threats are magnified and over-hyped by the media in a manner designed to instill fear in the hearts of the American people.

One week Iran is the face of "evil". The next it is Zarqawi. Then it is an amorphous thing called "homegrown terrorism", which was highlighted through the arrest of seven hapless fools in Miami. Suddenly the danger shifts and it is North Korea misfiring several harmless missiles. Yet, before the public can breathe a non-anxious breath, a plot to blowup tunnels in New York City is discovered and reported

TERRA TERRA TERRA!!!!!!!
