Kissing Internet Privacy Goodbye
Kissing Internet Privacy Goodbye

It appears the Bill is written, the politican picked to present it, and the FBI is ready to slam the door shut on what we used to know as Privacy. Our Internet, once the form we could freely get in touch with our Friends and Family, is about to be swept up in a Giant Invasion of Eavesdropping against our Civil Rights.

The FBI has drafted sweeping legislation that would require Internet service providers to create wiretapping hubs for police surveillance and force makers of networking gear to build in backdoors for eavesdropping, CNET News.com has learned.

FBI Agent Barry Smith distributed the proposal at a private meeting last Friday with industry representatives and indicated it would be introduced by Sen. Mike DeWine, an Ohio Republican, according to two sources familiar with the meeting.

3. The bad news is that they have already been at for years!
You know how they like to introduce retroactive cover your ass legislation. Hoekstra wrote a four page letter to W complaining about some mystery spy program that he had just recently discovered through whistleblowers, well...
