Anyone know what criminal penalties there are for someone putting a spouse |
|
on their group medical insurance without their knowledge or consent?

Even I didn't know my husband was on my dental until just recently. Seems it's automatic where I work, even if the spouse isn't under your medical.

2. If they forged your signature on the papers... |

...then that's fraud.
Otherwise, as long as the details are correct, I don't think they've done anything wrong. It's a benefit, so it would be difficult to argue that you've suffered any harm by your spouse's (or their employer's) actions. Just like if someone shoved $20 in your pocket, it would be difficult to prosecute them for assault.
If, by adding you to the plan, they messed up your entitlement to other insurance benefits, you can probably take a civil action against them, and sue them for the value of the lost benefits.

3. This Is Interesting. I Wonder What Prompted Your Post |
|
Do you, or someone you know, feel that they have been defrauded by a spouse who put them on their group medical insurance without their knowledge or consent?
What's up?

Perhaps seeking treatment at an ER after being hit by a truck with no insurance prompted this.

28. Oh that's right, you just wanted to avoid reporting a crime to police. |
|
And to let the perpetrator go free to do it again.
