Air America Radio: I'm begging for mercy!
I'm writing an e-mail to AAR on a daily basis, begging that they replace this "music" on the Internet feed during commercial breaks. Hell, I'll take the worst commercials they have ever carried over this monotonous spew that started at the beginning of the year.

If you agree with me, and find that your head hurts as a result of hour upon hour of this repetitive crap that they are pounding us with, please join me.

I beg AAR to get rid of the muzak crap during breaks.

Let's pound on them until they submit to popular demand.

2. Not gonna happen.
Unless every advertiser is national, there will continue to be muzak.

3. In order to save AAR some money...
... it's good to have them play that awful muzak rather than music that they have to pay for.

9. You would think they would want their new singles to be played on
there to get exposure. AAR pays nothing and new music and/or artists get free exposure.

Why couldn't they do that?

7. I wish they could
or would use the break time to give some exposure to talented but unknown musicians. They'd have to hire somebody to co-ordinate that, though.

8. I have also wondered, if they are just filling unsold commercial time, why
not fill it with PSAs or historical facts or newsworthy audio clips or cross-pro-mo ads or announcements from progressive non-profits? I agree the music is a distraction that causes me to station surf in my car.

Malloy's symphonic pink floyd stuff is difficult to listen to as well, but I tolerate it.

11. I don't know which is worse the music or the teeth grinding commericals.
I turn the sound down when either comes on.

13. Why don't they play MUSIC?!?
How 'bout some Woodie Guthrie? There's lot's of royalty-free music out there, as well as starving musicians who need a break!

I prefer dead silence or the sound of crickets or rain than awful commercials and muzak.

14. oddly enough, I miss "The Fresh Grocer"
"Now when you select your baby carrots, you want to make sure they're bright orange and free from any black mold, slime or crawling vermin!"

Fresh Grocer's insider tips were the only thing preventing me from having a refrigerator full of maggot infested grapes.
