Let's get SERIOUS, shall we???
I am going to throw out the first suggestion and say that:

1. DU'er take the lead in "taking our country back".

2. We organize within our respective states.

3. We first meet as DU'ers then we conduct an outreach to all of
the various organizations in our respective counties, who share the same values.

4. We then "unionize"

5. We make sure there is an pro-bono attorney who helps us draft a mission statement.

6. We then network with each of the DU organizations within our state, within each county to appoint ONE representative to network with each state.

7. We then conduct a 50 state "sit-in" or "blue-flu" or "march" or "rally" or "candlelight gathering" the likes of which this county has NEVER seen.

8. We continue to write LTTE's, and develop a national website devoted to only productive and informative endeavors. The DU board stays as it is, a place to express ideas and kvetch, and worry and wonder and guess and wonder who is doing what and so forth.

I have many more ideas but have NO IDEA what anybody else thinks.

1. All of these things
are all well and good, however the fastest and most complete
way is to VOTE them out each and every one of them, until we
take back our rights and standing as citizens, all the
screaming and yelling and sitting won't do diddly squat. Until
the adminstration understands that we are not the Governed,
but the ones that Govern, we have no chance. and this means
starting from the local level up.

3. Civil Rights, Walter Reuther and Unions, Gay and Lesbian, and
how about those Suffragettes! They did what it took to get attention, organize and educate. It only took 72 years for the movement to make it.

Although I appreciate your view, it is exactly what is gone wrong, isn't it??

Our votes I mean.

I am thinking that perhaps DU is a reflection of the Democrates.......many views, many voices, no will to organize.

4. We are already organized,
wheather we realize it or not it is still the vote that counts
the most. I am not disagreeing with you on how to do it, just
the end result. Revolutions start with a whisper not a scream.

5. I like the list...
I'd like to add one more:

We start to run for office to get our talking points out there. Something along those lines.

I'd love to run myself but don't have the money, and am not in a position right now to drop my life to try and fundraise. I know, excuses, excuses. But it's a sad state we're in when those who really care (DUers, for example) have trouble entering the fray because of money.
