Bush Military History Project #23
This is being written as a journal in democraticunderground.com and crossposted on Dailykos and Myleftwing.
I urge readers of this series to obtain a copy of Unfit Commander by Glenn Smith, the only source of Bush's military papers in chronological order. Where internet references are not easily available I will give page numbers of this book for reference.
I also urge readers to become familiar with the report by Lt Col Gerald Lechliter, published in the NY Times, available at: http://www.nytimes.com/....
Or Google: NY Times Gerald Lechliter. I will be referring to both of these sources in this study.
Many, many Thanks and an Airborne salute to Paul Lukasiak and his AWOL Project: http://www.glcq.com/
I can be reached at concernedexlrrp@hotmail.com

A comment from a Constant Reader asking if the information I give here was new or from Unfit Commander makes me want to stop here and organize the facts a little, put things into better perspective

There’s many things here you haven’t read or heard anywhere else, things that if understood and taken as a whole with the rest of Bush’s records are highly incriminating to Bush, his former superiors, and some of his aides. Others like Lechliter, Lukasiak and Mapes talk all around these crimes but they don’t say it the way I’m saying it: America—there are many crimes easily visible in Bush’s records once theyre unscrambled and analyzed. Thats why they scrambled them up before they released them. And there’s definite connections in the CBS papers to the falsifications plainly evident in Bush’s papers. You aren’t reading that anywhere else—tho you should be.

What the BMHP is doing is taking information from all the sources concerning this affair and collating them into a believable narrative that fits the paperwork. This the Bush administration never did for reasons that by now should be very obvious—once its done crimes are visible: serious crimes, serious federal crimes like fraud and embezzlement, fraudulent pay, fraudulent discharge, falsification of official documents and dereliction of duty.

You’re not reading any of this easily developed news anywhere else in the media or blogosphere. Marty Heldt and Paul Lukasiak started this ball rolling but their sites have had had no changes in almost 2 years. This story has been completely killed in the media and youre looking at it in its final life support stages in the blogosphere. I guess its down at last to the BMHP for any further investigation of this story. It’s a tough job—but someone has to do it. I consider this my last lrrp patrol, one more for the good ol US of A. I put the information out: what America does with it is beyond my sight.

Yet this is the most tantalizing frustration of all—because this story isn’t dead and can still turn around and come back and nail Bush and the Republicans bigtime whenever anybody of any weight in the MSM or government wants to pick up the information to use it. This is potentially the most damaging thing Bush has left to face, it should have got Kerry elected and if it comes to light it will cause Bush trouble for the rest of his days. There’s a whole book here, a BIG book, with the most fertile leads for further investigation.

The odds are real good Bush and his former chain of command will never have to face responsibility for the crimes they committed, but the story is still there, even if the rest of America walks away from it, and the MSM runs away from it. Any investigative reporters still alive in America? Prove it on this case, there’s a Pulitzer floating around just waiting to be grabbed here.

This story shows a huge national shame and disgrace for many reasons: the failure of the corrupt TXANG to discipline Bush, the lies and spin that have been told about Bush’s records, the lies told about other people’s records (like Kerry and Gore) and the complete evasion of the federal government’s duty to maintain the integrity of its documents. Its all part of this story and will be dealt with in subsequent BMHP installments.

The story of the “Emperor’s New Clothes” is often attached to Bush doings and never more rightly so as in this case. What the Emperor’s new clothes story is about is stating the obvious truth and that’s what I’m doing here.

Much of what youre reading here isn’t “new” and it doesn’t take a lot of research-- its just stating the obvious, which has not only never been stated before but has been completely smoke and mirrored. Like: Obviously Bush knows whether the order to take the physical is real or not because he knows if he was ordered to take the physical or not. If he wasn’t, he knows for sure its false—but if he was, he knows that this is the order. (or??) Obviously Bush would answer a loud and unequivocal NO to this question if he could—what I’m pointing out that no one else is, is that he didn’t. That’s EXTREMELY significant—why didn’t Bush ever emphatically deny he was ordered to take the physical? It’s the first thing an Honest Man would have done

Other obvious things like: Bush WAS given an order of suspension by Col Killian on August 1st 1972, according to the two confirmation documents. That order should be in his records by regulation, as has been lengthily discussed in BMHP, along with a signed acknowledgement. Its missing from Bush’s records!! And that’s the one that the CBS suspension order purports to be! And it has everything it should: date, information, everything.

Now come on, even you die hard fonts experts might have reconsidered your opinions if you knew that the CBS suspension order represents a document that WAS written and sent up the chain of command—and is missing from Bush’s records. The CBS suspension order gains a lot of credibility by being the ONLY known version of a missing document. But you didn’t get that critical information from the media, even CBS, although they had “experts” debating how long it took Kerry to get the Swiftboat turned around and even interviewed former Viet Cong and asked them if Kerry deserved the medal.

America, through “our” media, should have been asking all along the basic questions that never got asked and demanding a yes or no answer—like was Bush ever ordered to take his physical or not. We STILL don’t know whether he was or not, a simple yes or no question that was asked many times but completely stonewalled. America—you needed to know if your Commander in Chief disobeyed an order to take his physical or not before the election—and you STILL need to know. And you need to know what his real suspension order said and looked like. Obviously Bush knows this, and is pretending he doesn’t, but as far as I know you’re reading it here first last and only.

The fact that we don’t know whether Bush was ordered to take the physical or not and what his real suspension order looked like is a REAL disgrace for the media—they never found out the basic facts of the story, although they had more than enough leads, and actually helped Bush smoke and mirror the truth. This story is going to move off of the falsifications and onto the phony media coverage very soon.

But the central and most smoked and mirrored fact of this case is that the CBS/killian/Bush Papers represent federal documents. We’ve gone over this time after time in the BMHP: letterhead of a federal unit, purporting to be official business, two of them signed full signature of the commanding officer of the federal unit.
Anybody still thinking the CBS papers are NOT federal papers, please respond below and debate this sentence: “Anything written and signed by the commander of a federal unit in performance of his duties is a federal document and its integrity must be maintained by the federal government.”

I don’t see any hands raised so I’m going to ask ANOTHER obvious question: If the federal government has a duty to maintain the integrity of its documents why didn’t they do so here? If false, these documents LIBEL Bush and his former chain of command by falsifying their official documents and implicating them in a plot to defraud the government. (all been covered in previous BMHP’s)

This is the bottom line point to the BMHP: The CBS papers represent federal documents and the federal government is responsible to maintain their integrity. This they have not done, have shirked and evaded their duty to do this most basic function of government. They evaded their duty in the most craven manner: by abdicating it to their “bloggers” and the CBS dog and pony show which had NO legal standing at all. And they did this with the sole reason of hiding all the crimes committed by Bush and his superiors.

The BMHP wants to know if the CBS papers are real or not AND SO SHOULD AMERICA!! The BMHP wants to be told by the proper authorities who have been duly authorized and have the proper facilities and powers to make this judgement—NOT bloggers, NOT CBS or the rest of the bought off media-- AND SO SHOULD AMERICA!!

. We want to know from the official agencies which have been tasked with this job. Is it news to America that there’s whole departments set up just to detect, investigate and prosecute allegedly forged federal documents? Why haven’t these resources ever been used to resolve this case? We want this matter settled through due and official process—not the word of bloggers and CBS.

Wake up America—You’ve been HAD! By your own government, by your own commander in Chief! And by your own ruling party and the media too!! How hard is that to believe?
And don’t expect to read about it in the newspapers! But you’ll read more about it in the next installment of the Bush Military History Project

3. This is such an amazing story.
Let an ordinary enlisted slob attempt to game the system like this. I've met more than one who was on active duty for missing one too many drills back in the day, they had no sense of humor at all. No slack was given except to W for some reason...
