I mean, it is in their best interest to play to our FEARS of another attack, but I don't think it serves their propaganda purposes if the let another attack happen on their watch. Remember, their only mantra now, their last campaign point, is that they're protecting us from terra. Just sayin.

1. It depends
They might think they can play it as "Look at how Congress and the hated New York Times have tied our hands. We could have stopped this attack and we did everything we were allowed to do to stop it. But a myopic congress, scared by visions of lost liberties, hamstrung us. That's why we need Patriot acts 2 through 4 to be passed immediately."

This isn't the best time to make that argument (compared to a few years ago), but they might still try it.

2. As much as I hate to admit it
my first thought was wondering how fast Orrin Hatch would find a microphone to start dropping hints of Jose Padilla.

I'm sure if they (the WH via Rove) were able to connect it to terrorism, they would.

3. Just heard on the radio
CBS News: the White House says there is no reason to believe the explosion was terror related. An incredible change in tact. Not too long ago the mere thought of an attack of any kind anywhere would have us on a terror alert for months. Maybe george is just tired of this evil fucking conservative game. He is on the way to ruining our military and the deficit continues to skyrocket.

at all kinds of "evil doings"
