I haven't heard "angry Dem" for a while
I think the meme backfired big time. Yes, I'm angry, angry at being involved in an illegal war that is costing us dearly. Angry that gasoline is taking a big bite out of our income, along with everything else associated with fuel, groceries etc.. Angry that there are 45 million Americans without health care. Angry that the rich are leaving the rest of us in the dust. Angry that this administration fucks up every damn thing they touch.
Angry at having a pretzledunce that can't speak coherently, or form a thought in a complete sentence, I'd prefer having a president who is heads above where I am.
Angry at the apathetic way of the people around me.
I think we need to bring this meme back and use it for ourselves, yes I'm an angry Dem, give me an hour or so and I'll tell you just why I'm angry.

2. It's because the majority of americans are angry
for the reasons you listed above. Therefore the GOPers are worried about identifying a clear majority with the democrats.

3. The Dean Scream
I think the dems are afraid to come across as angry, because of way the Dean scream was "played". Personally, I just thought it showed excitement in him, which was the quality that drew me to him in the first place. I`d really like to see some of his old fire again. It would be wonderful to see the rabble roused again.

5. Ahhhh, Dean, the guy got out there and inspired
He was talkin' the talk and speaking to we the people. Remember how many Dems in high places that backed him? It scared the hell out of the staunch oldies in the party. They thought they knew the public better than the Dean Groupies. It was fun until it all came crashing down in Iowa. Me thinks dirty pool. What do I know?

OP is on to something as far as using the angry american angle. They decided it was better to use the wimpy 'cut & run'. They win if they can once again convince the general public that Dems are weak. Our Dem candidates are again showing they are weak! So few are willing to take a chance and use their common sense rather than "advisors/campaign managers", screw those too well paid know nothings. It's called selling your soul.

7. Let Dean loose again!!
Let him scream, maybe, just maybe it will wake some people up! Every time he is on tv, he now appears too "managed". Turn him loose to yell and scream. He was a "real" person. That`s what we need!! Send in the rabble to rouse these apathetic dems!!

10. It backfired because just about EVERYONE is angry...
A lot of ANGRY folks in the middle, watching the Repubs
smiling and waving from their limos, are told that
the DEMS are angry, just like them...
This does NOT help the repubs!
