5. It's from an email
Here it is....

"THESE ARE THE SENATORS WHO VOTED TO GIVE ILLEGAL ALIENS SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS. REGARDLESS OF POLITICAL PARTY, THESE POLITICIANS NEED TO BE DEFEATED IN 2006, 2008 OR 2010 WHENEVER THEY COME UP FOR OFFICE. SEND THIS TO ANYONE YOU KNOW IN ANY OF THE STATES LISTED. THE ENTIRE POPULATION OF THE UNITED STATES NEED TO KNOW THIS INFORMATION. THAT IS UNLESS THEY DO NOT MIND SHARING THEIR SOCIAL SECURITY WITH FOREIGN WORKERS WHEN AMERICAN CITIZENS ARE BEING LEFT OUT.

...talk show host started spewing out over the airways?

3. Since migrant workers pay in but are afraid
to file for benefits when they hit 65, the social security system is running a surplus (at least a surplus from funds paid in by undocumented
migrants). What the Senate is voting on is so migrants can collect
their Social Security when they hit 65, even if their legal status
to be in the country remains questionable at the time.

8. I knew someone here would know.....thanks
From Snopes...

"If all of the above made your eyes glaze over, it boils down to this: While the list of who voted which way is accurate, what was being voted on was a motion to table (that is, stick in a closet in hopes that it will never be seen again) a motion to deny former illegals credit for the Social Security payments they made while in the U.S. illegally."

7. Shouldn't some benefits be reserved for.................
....LEGAL immigrants/citizens?? Or, we could always drop the word LEGAL from the English language.

9. If they pay into it, why not?
If they steal a SS # to work here illegally, I would need a good case to explain why they should get it. I'm open to enlightenment.

11. The operative word here is LEGAL - are those people............
.....who pay into the system ALL LEGAL residents?? NO!! Therefore, again I ask, shouldn't some benefits be reserved for legal residents??

10. Actually, my husband is a "legal immigrant," but not a citizen
They get an even better name: RESIDENT ALIEN

I always thought that was so cool, slightly punk. I think he should put RA after his name, like MD or CPA.:P

12. Notice I covered that issue by saying................
.....legal immigrants/citizens - meaning as long as they are here legally then obtaining SS benefits should apply to both legal immigrants and legal citizens.

It's the illegal ones that should be denied.

Whether or not you think they deserve them.

16. Procedure for emailed "information"

DELETE...do not even open..

If you are new to the political sphere, you will spare yourself a lot of angst by just deleting those anecdotal "goodies" sent by friends & family :)

Anything you wonder about is just a click away with google.

Real friends don't send you crap to piss you off , and ones who think you might think like them, need to be enlightened:)
