MLK Day has more meaning for me now, I'm sure those who fought it regret
that they gave in and let it become a national holiday.

Many Rethuglicans fought to keep MLK day from being a holiday. It all seemed purely racist to me at the time. But seeing Gore today, along with Hillary, Sharpton, Belafonte, et al...speaking out in alignment with MLK's beliefs--has given the day a new meaning. This holiday will serve as a national "check" to see how far we have strayed from the ideals that King and other great mean in our nation's history have supported.
