Hey history buffs, check this out---> 1777-1867 court database |
|
A professor of history at UNC-Greensboro (my alma mater and department) has put together an awesome data base of court records/legal petitions related to race and slavery. Facinating stuff. http://library.uncg.edu/slavery_petitions/index.asp

I wish I had been a part of the research and compilation. Alas, I was a lowly undergrad. The History Dept grad students got to do all the work.

3. Oooh -- thank you for the link! |

Just this morning I was just telling my Hist101 students that one of the the best ways to "feel" the past is through primary documents. Since so much of America's early history is entwined with the evolution of slavery, this will make a fantastic additional resource!
:woohoo:
