Anyone hear some guy named Galbraith on Franken today?
He was describing a scene in the White House where two Iraqi nationals (I think they were scientists, not sure) met with Bush at the end of January 2003.

The Invasion of Iraq was 6 weeks away and these two Iraqi's were in a meeting with Bush. Bush asked these two guys what they thought an Iraq without Saddam Hussein would like like.

They told Bush that he would have to make sure that a civil war did not break out between the Shiites and the Sunni's.

Bush's reply? -- I thought Iraq was a Muslim country..

I nearly drove off the road at that point.

3. That was a fantastic interview......
I have already told several people about this and it is just another bit of proof that we have an idiot as resident in the WH. One of the other important things the guest said was that Iraq isn't a country any longer. There are no Iraqis, only Sunni and Shi'ite sects. And that we should withdraw to Kurdistan immediately.

4. sounds like the "no French word for entrepreneur" story
'funny,' in a very sad way, but I wonder if it's apocryphal

can he possibly be that ignorant?

6. I think Ken Galbraith's son is a dissident
just like Michael Parenti's son christian. Good genes in both cases.

7. Not much of a dissedent since Keynsian economics was the basis
of the mid twentieth century. And indeed - the Bush WH is using an offshoot of it today.
