White House blasts Clinton N.Korea policy
http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/national/1151AP_US_NKorea_Clinton.html

WASHINGTON -- The White House belittled former President Clinton's policy of direct engagement with North Korea on Monday, saying efforts to shower North Korean leader Kim Jong Il "with flowers and chocolates" failed.

White House spokesman Tony Snow told reporters that Bill Richardson, who served as United Nations ambassador and Energy Secretary under Clinton, "went with flowers and chocolates, and he went with light-water nuclear reactors ... and a basketball signed by Michael Jordan and many other inducements for the 'dear leader' to try to agree not to develop nuclear weapons, and it failed."

Snow added, "We've learned from that mistake."

Jay Carson, a spokesman for the Clinton Foundation in New York City, responded, "This is a serious issue for global security, and it's unfortunate that the Bush administration's TV spinmaster is manufacturing excuses for North Korea's transgressions instead of looking at the last six years of inaction and the abandonment of diplomacy."

Clinton talked to N.K. = no bombs or missiles
bush did not talk to N.K. = nukes & missiles

very rough version of story
The N. Koreans liked Richardson ..... met w/ him in some dumpy hotel in the Philippines ..
spent 2 days talking about devil capitalistic dogs and crap like that ..... after a while Richardson
would ask how much food they needed .... N.K. would give him a figure ..... Bill R would tell
the State Dept. and they would give the # to the Dept. of Ag. .... end results

No nuclear bombs
no missiles
less starvation of innocent people
American Farmers had their commodities bought @ a fair rate (corn, wheat, rice, beans, & etc)

w/ bush's no talk idea
nuclear warheads now made
long ranch missiles now produced
people starved to death (you know all those babies that the right wing
wants to save from abortions?) .... massive pain & suffering
this will cost us billions more to fix than the cost of the food stuffs.
