147. Mother's!
Is it still there???? It didn't float away? First time I went to New Orleans, we asked the concierge where we could get good, down-home, authentic New Orleans food. She referred us to "Mudda's" and gave us directions. We got to where we thought it should be and looked for a couple of minutes but couldn't find it (we were looking for "Mudda's) until I saw the "Mother's" sign. We laughed our asses off then went in and proceeded to have the best collard greens, fried chicken and biscuits and gravy known to mankind.

And you just HAD to mention crawfish etouffee and me in California with no good source for crawdads! (Btw, did you know that, when necessary, crawdads can be used as roach clips? But that's another story.) :smoke:

I feel as though we are not immuned from this cancer, and regarding voting I voted by absentee ballot, and I will again in November to get those bastards out. My husband who is not American and I have had some interesting and heated conversations about what is happening out there, he has his perspective and I am defending mine, he said after the 2nd term of bush we will not recognize the US, and he's right on that, among other things.

76. You can't be serious!
You want everyone in the world to vote in US elections? And are willing to change our constitution to allow it? That just amazes me.

We have enough problems with getting our own citizens' votes counted correctly. I can't imagine the mess we would have if the entire world were voting with us.

104. I am not serious. I do think we should
be using the United Nations for what is was intended, however -- giving all nations, large & small, a much more equal say in the events of the world. As it is, the UN has never worked the way it was intended to - the US controls it and the rest of the world is helpless to do anything.

It's weird enough that there's one, let alone a bunch.

Some wierd history here; apparently Queen Victoria chose Ottawa as the capital of Canada by sticking her hatpin in a place halfway between Toronto and Montreal.

Ottawa, MI
Ottawa, PA
Ottawa, KY

It was wierd when a parishioner of mine moved from here to Ottawa, KS to teach at Ottawa University! He actually tried to find a house with the same number on a street of the same name. Found the street, but the house with his number was not for sale.

All pictures of the supposedly spherical Earth show shadows that are not congruent with a 3-D image. I think it's a conspiracy on behalf of medieval navigators, evolutionists and physicists, to deny the truth that the Earth is in fact a flat trapezoid.

Welcome to all posters from outside US. HELP! HELP! HELP!

Actually have done some country shopping wondering where I could go: Australia, New Zealand, South America, Mexico, Canada? Where oh where. I've always dreamt of living in France ..... The fact that * was re-elected made me feel like this wasn't my country anymore. How could I belong in a country that believes torture is an American value? That keeps criminals in office because they like them? Etc ad infinitum.

Keep repeating: It was election fraud, it had to be, and not the real choice of the majority of the people -- or else yikes.

Decided I have to stay here no matter what because it's my job as a citizen to fight to take our country back from the criminals and idiots who are in control. My duty no matter how distasteful it is, including the whole rotten capitalistic brain-dead culture.
