2. No. It's a REALITY-BASED media station.
See, in conservative-land anything that even smacks of reality, objective truth, or reason is branded as "liberal media."

Sharp as a knife. I saw a clip when she took apart Laura Ingrham for her comments on journalists in Iraq.

I've really enjoyed her Middle East coverage. You know the soldiers in the field like her visits.

(Prediction) Lara Logan will be given a new assignment away from the CBS Evening News. Katie, "Mirror, Mirror on the wall, who is the fairest news reader of them all?"

20. Then it will be bye bye Katie
Ms Logan has a LOT of devoted fans with deep respect for her. She's THE star of CBS News. I would suspect she is a key factor in the rising ratings of CBS News.

Katie is standing on very shaky ground as it is -- people are resisting, some even dreading, her assuming the CBS anchorship. If Katie is nuts enough to try to submerge her -- Katie is finished.

17. and she has the sexiest accent!
She's got that South African accent that sounds sort-of British but is slightly "off." (in a good way)

I think the best compliment that could be paid to her beauty is that, even if she were a totally brainless Faux News bibmbette, she'd still be the hottest woman on any news station.

Yet, she not only has brains but has such a huge pair of balls that even Stephen Colbert would stand in awe!

19. She's an ***outstanding*** reporter
She's the best on tv. Her reports are always right inside the action -- she is a brave woman -- and her stories make for exciting television with *just the facts.* She has the best sources, focuses like a laser on what matters most. In 2 minutes, she can tell a story with more detail and perception than every one else can do in 30 minutes -- and that's a rare talent.

CBSNews has had the good sense to recognize her rare talent and to advance her in their organization, and give her prime spots to give her reports.

I've really gotten a lot out of her exchanges with Bob Schieffer. (boo hoo I am really going to miss Bob. I cringe when I see even a 10 second Katie Couric clip)

She is also a lovely woman with a noble bearing, all the more exciting and attractive a woman due to her intellect and talent. I'm a straight female, but I agree that she is the real hottie article -- she's wonderful to look at. She's almost like a movie character -- the gorgeous, brilliant, and courageous international adventurer. I remember thinking long ago -- yikes! she's kinda like a real life Lara Croft.

She's got it all.Sorry -- I can't stomach any comparisons between her and the empty hair-do tv "chippies."

No -- she is extraordinary, and her star will continue to rise. Pity CBS passed on making Lesley Stahl the anchor, but I don't think they will pass by Ms Logan -- she's just too important.

Gosh by golly -- I am such a big fan of hers.

23. Indeed, she did. Here is the transcript and link from Crooks & Liars.
http://www.crooksandliars.com/2006/03/26.html#a7669

Lara Logan smacked down the "negative Iraq War Coverage" charges

She's outraged over these chargers...

(Transcript via CNN's Reliable Sources)

KURTZ: But critics would say, well, no wonder people back home think things are falling apart because we get this steady drumbeat of negativity from the correspondents there.

LOGAN: Well, who says things aren't falling apart in Iraq? I mean, what you didn't see on your screens this week was all the unidentified bodies that have been turning up, all the allegations here of militias that are really controlling the security forces.

What about all the American soldiers that died this week that you didn't see on our screens? I mean, we've reported on reconstruction stories over and over again…I mean, I really resent the fact that people say that we're not reflecting the true picture here. That's totally unfair and it's really unfounded.

...Our own editors back in New York are asking us the same things. They read the same comments. You know, are there positive stories? Can't you find them? You don't think that I haven't been to the U.S. military and the State Department and the embassy and asked them over and over again, let's see the good stories, show us some of the good things that are going on? Oh, sorry, we can't take to you that school project, because if you put that on TV, they're going to be attacked about, the teachers are going to be killed, the children might be victims of attack.

Oh, sorry, we can't show this reconstruction project because then that's going to expose it to sabotage. And the last time we had journalists down here, the plant was attacked. I mean, security dominates every single thing that happens in this country….So how it is that security issues should not then dominate the media coverage coming out of here?

She also kicks Laura Ingraham's "hotel balconey" remark around too. (It comes at the end of the video clip.)
