Anybody listen to Mike Malloy's show earlier?
I am just listening to it via White Rose Society. I love the way he attacked Dianne Feinstein. "What is wrong with this woman?" Malloy exclaims! Shame on her for discouraging a filibuster! She cannot see Alito's track record and the outrageous claims that "nothing" transpired from the hearings????

Please somebody in California give her a Democratic primary challenge and KICK HER OUT of the Senate!!

Nothing on Feinstein has come up

5. Yeah. Nobody in California has yet to reveal themselves.
Edited on Tue Jan-17-06 03:37 AM by Cascadian
In the Democratic Party anyway. That baffles me. Aren't Californians getting sick and tired of her selling out to the Neocons? Where are the true Democrats standing up and calling B.S. on Feinstein? I guess only a third party (Greens) will be the only answer to this. Only time will tell.

11. There is a Green Candidate who tossed in his hat right in front of her
office in San Francisco.

Todd Chretien

13. This is what happens when Democratic politicians roll over.
Or Democratic politicians pretending to be Republicans. You get the Greens to start coming out and taking you on. Wake up! See? I really would like to see another Democrat take Feinstein on. I really would. If that is not the case, then I would support Mr. Chretien if I were a California voter.

4. Not going to happen.
I'm not thrilled with Diane either, but the chances of her political machine being overcome by another democratic or progressive challenger's are about the same as Bush giving Valerie Plame & Sibel Edmunds a congressional medal of honor for their whistle blowing. The only people with anything like a shot of taking her out are the GOP, and needless to say that wouldn't be a happy outcome.

Better to spend time promoting other, more deserving Democrats - like Barbara Boxer.

6. I like Boxer.
She is deserving of being a Presidential candidate in 2008. More than Hillary Clinton!

7. Barbara deserves all the kudos she gets.
She'd make a fine president, tho it seems rare for a senator to win the presidency these days.

14. She seems a lot more personable than Feinstein.
More approachable too. I get the impression that Dianne Feinstein is not a particularly nice person. From all I have heard of her. Plus she does not fight the Neocons enough. At least I can count on Boxer to take a stand against these righty fascists.

15. I'd have to agree with that observation.
Diane's not the warmest person alive, that's for sure. There's something to be said about being a tough cookie when you work in politics, but Barbara seems to do just fine and she's sweet as a peach when she wants to be.

8. I listened to the Malloy Show!
As usual, it was great. Mike almost popped a gasket tonight, when he was talking about Feinstein. Been NOT voting for her for her last 2 runs. I saw the light on her many years ago. Unfortunately she's pretty dug in around here. Not much chance to take her out of office at this time. It's not just this Alito issue, it's a lot of things. If anyone's been paying close attention, they'll know just how much of a 'good ol boy' she really is.

I often let my mind wander about what would happen if some ordinary 'Joes' would pop out of nowhere; like pied pipers...begin telling it like it is, loudly and clearly. That's what we need you know... ordinary people who can speak up and get heard. Of course I would have to wonder how long it would be before these people would get arrested and shipped off to a foreign country for 'Rendition'..........

16. Jello Biafra
had her nailed years ago. He ran against her for mayor of SF with an in-your-face campaign.

Jello is an amazingly astute and politically savvy person.

20. I don't like Diane, but Dems have better places to spend money and time...
than fighting other Democrats. That can wait till after we take back some branches of the government. Any weaknesses opened up by a democratic challenge to DiFi will be followed up by a GOP win. As an example, I remind you of what happened to Grey Davis.

The Republicans spend all day and night waiting for opportunities like these, and we can't afford to cede any more Democratic strongholds to the RW. It's better at this point to get control of the party via strategies like Dean's DNC chairmanship and the DFA and then pull her back on the platform from the top down. As infuriating as DiFi and her war profiteer husband can be, she's infinitely more controllable than other conservative, Bush kissing Dems or a GOP spoiler.

Edited on Tue Jan-17-06 04:39 AM by Cascadian
Feinstein would not get my vote. The Democrats ought to do better than her. And NO. I would not vote for the Republican candidate if I could. That Green Party candidate looks pretty good though.
