Bob Novak's "We Found The WMDs" Moment
You gotta hand it to Bob Novak. After Fox News (especially Hannity) have been deeply embarrassed by Senator Santorum's made up news story about finding the WMDs in Iraq, you'd think they'd validate a story better before giving it prime time coverage.

But they fall into the same trap of desperately trying to show a failed administration in any potential 'good light'. Unfortunately this story is going to backfire moreso than the WMD and the stupid Freepers out there are going for the bait. When will these poor suckers ever learn not to trust Faux News and the Administration shills.

At any rate, here's why Novak's story is so blatantly a Baghdad Bob moment:

1. He claims his source for Joe Wilson's wife's name is the Who's Who. Unfortunately, her name was not a secret. Her neighbors and friends all knew her name, and along with the Who's Who, there are plenty of public documents like a Marriage License and real-estate purchases that give away the fact that she is married to Joe Wilson. It's a "No shit Sherlock" moment for Novak. No wonder he stormed off the set of CNN when Carville put the copy of Who's Who on the table. He was gonna smash Bobby's face with it. And this doesn't even factor in the fact that it's already been reported that Novak's source for her name was the Who's Who (http://www.nytimes.com/2005/08/02/politics/02leak.html?ex=1280635200&en=3e09e480ced36690&ei=5090&partner=rssuserland&emc=rss)

2. He claims Bob Harlow is a source (but doesn't clarify if he is or isn't his primary source). Well there's nothing new here either, as it was reported a year ago in the Washington Post that Mr. Harlow disclosed his role in PlameGate: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/07/26/AR2005072602069_pf.html.

3. Novak claims he's no longer involved in the investigation. Well la-de-da ol' Bobby boy, no shit there either. If you were, you'd likely be either indicted or you've already spilled your beans. Oh wait, you just said the following:
My primary source has not come forward to identify himself...I answered questions using the names of Rove, Harlow and my primary source.
Soooo, your primary source has yet to come forward. Well, well, well, who could that be? Now that's a real story, do tell Bob. But I bet you can't as that's probably something you aren't allowed to talk about without Fitzgerald sending you straight to prison for obstruction.

1. He can still be prosecuted can't he....? His arrogance has
no bounds.....nothing would fit the old bastard than some pinstripes and a cell for the rest of his life.....

If what he says is true than every CIA agent is vulnerable to this attack...their neighbors may know them, the school may know them...

It doesn't make it right or justified to out an agent...

2. Interesting point about his unnamed source ...
Wonder why he is coming out now with this little distraction. What's his game if he has nothing new? Who's pulling his strings or what's in it for him?

3. He's trying to make the investigation a non-story to give some relief
To the dismal ratings of Bush and his Crony Congressmen in order to start an upward swing of approval for the election.

It's not going to work if we don't let it though.

6. Also, since he's been hired on by Faux
they haven't been making much use of him. On CNN he hosted 3 or 4 shows. On Faux, he's only done guest spots, if they can stand him. They tried him as one of Faux All-Stars with Brit Hume, but his views didn't jibe with the rest of the panel. Now he's their big star. With Bob, it all comes down to $$$. The reason he sang for Fitzgerald was that he didn't want to spend money on lawyers.

7. The media talk this afternoon kept mentioning the name
Armitage as the unknown other. His name has been mentioned on this site as a possible suspect in this mess. Whose name hasn't been mentioned, from bush on down. Did they print up a newsletter giving this info to all, you know, an inner-office memo/e-mail, or was Libby the main manure spreader?

5. Too bad we can't find that defining moment during the Gore recount
when Novak used a net poll to prove that the country wanted Gore to concede. Son of a bitch. And that was BEFORE "freeped poll" was a household word, and before the networks ever made an attempt to block computers from voting more than once.
