Slaughter Prevention Act.

Dear Missy:

First line of hi nice to hear from you blah blah.

"Each year, approximately 60,000 horses from the United States are slaughtered for human consumption at three United States-based, foreign-owned slaughterhouses. In related instances, thousand of live horses are exported across U.S. borders for slaughter and consumption. Many horses shipped to slaughter are young, healthy animals. Others are in poor body condition and may be suffering broken lims and other serious ailments. Many are shipped on double-deck trucks designed for shorter-neck species, such as pigs, cattle, and sheep, and are forced to travel in a bent position." (MOTHERFUCKERS!) "Animals that collapse due to injury or illness during the long journey may be trampled. Once the trucks arrive at the slaughterhouses, the horses can face poor conditions and callous treatment." (MOTHERFUCKERS!) "In response to these circumstances, H.R. 503 was introduced.

The measure would prohibit a person from 1) slaughtering a horse for human consumption; 2) importing to or exporting from the United States horseflesh or horses for human consumption; 3) selling, bartering, transferring, receiving, or distributing horseflesh or horses for human consumption; or 4) soliciting or knowingly causing any such actions. Introduced on February 1, 2005, the bill was referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce. Since that time, no hearing or other action has been scheduled on the bill. However, should the proposed legislation come to the House floor for consideration, I will be certain to keep your understandable concerns in mind.

In the meantime, you should be pleased that earlier this year, an amendment was passed by voice vote during consider of the Interior Appropriations which would prohibit the slaughter of wild, free-roaming horses and burros taken from public lands. While this is only a small segment of the total United States horse population, it does indicate a sense of the Congress that our wild horse population should be preserved without the threat of slaughter."

The End

I can't believe we treat animals this way. I we do not care more for our creatures, why should we value human life? WTF!

on edit... I tried scanning and uploading, no workie so I had to type the whole fing thing and dwell on each word. I have to leave for a while as I am very angry!
