As of today, the War Department lists 2544 as the number of unjustly murdered troops in Iraq. Dozens of innocent Iraqis are being killed due to the war crime every day. Over 80 Iraqis were killed in Baghdad alone on July 9th: dozens of people just in one city on one day who would be alive if not for BushCo.

I don't know what number Casey was. Nor do I care. I have seen people say 614, I have seen people say 714. It doesn't matter, because Casey and the other 2543 were not numbers. They were living, breathing, loving, worthwhile and contributing members of society. They could pass drug tests (unlike their "commander in chief" at their ages) and they honorably volunteered to serve their country to defend America and our freedoms. What George Bush and the rest of the careless war profiteers have committed in Iraq is abuse and misuse and had nothing to do with defending America or protecting our freedoms. The lies are well documented and proven. The lies are written on my heart forever.

Why is she stupid? You say it's nothing personal, but you're the one who called her stupid. Sounds pretty personal to me. What has she said or done that's stupid?

Her son DIED in a war that she believes is wrong and immoral. Most of us feel the same way. Over 2500 American soldiers have died in Iraq, along with countless innocent civilians. We have soldiers over there committing heinous crimes - whether they are isolated incidents or not, it doesn't really matter does it? The simple fact is that is what is making the news, both here and over there. Do you really think that's going to go over very well with the Iraqis, when we're over there raping their children?

For what? What have we really accomplished by going into Iraq?

I answered already. I think she was probably born that way. Genetics. Has someone explained to her that fasting is usually done without protein smoothies. Generally you lose weight when you fast. i think she means well and has the full six pack but she's missing the little plastic thingy that holds it all together

Here is Cindy's latest entry in her anti-war fast diary.

I find traveling out of the country very challenging being on a fast. When I was on a layover in Madrid on my way to Venice, Italy yesterday, the closest thing I could find to a smoothie to get a little protein was a coffee with vanilla ice cream in it. Traveling for 22 hours is very taxing under normal circumstances—but then again, when have we had normal circumstances since the 2000 and 2004 successful coup attempts that have brought BushCo into power?

The elevator just doesn't stop on all floors does it?

Everyone's doing their own thing. She's liquid only, apparently. People like Diane from Code Pink are hardcore water only. To each their own I guess.

I suppose she reckoned she needed to get some nourishment or should wouldn't be able to keep up with her appearances and such. People are invited to fast just as much or as little as they want to in solidarity for the cause.

It doesn't matter what number someone was, because truly they are "living,breathing,loving,worthwhile and contributing members of society. And that the horror of these abusive war profiteers want everyone to think this war is protecting our freedoms. Although, many suspect, these soldiers are protecting the profits of these war profiteers.

20. Pretty Good Article But Horrible Title And Closing Line.

It is a shame that our soldiers have to fight in an illegal war started under false pretense by a false president, but I think the moral of the story there is make sure you elect better presidents: Not don't let your kids grow up to be soldiers.

Fact is we need our armed forces. Though peace is always the better option not having a prepared and adequeate army is disasterous. As much as I hate the Iraq war and its atrocities I would never lobby for people to teach their kids to never want to defend their country. That ultimately is every individual's choice to make for themselves and God bless our troops that were brave and heroic enough to sign up to begin with.

I feel for Cindy and her loss, and to all those who have lost loved ones. But I vehemently disagree with a notion that tomorrow's children should be turned against joining the service. We need an army and we need a strong defense structure. Saying stuff like "Don't let your babies grow up to be soldiers" plays right into the right wing crap that the left is soft on national security and I winced heavily upon reading it.

Good content within the article, but immensely misguided title and closing. Sorry Cindy.
