Can someone please explain to me: the Novak revelation (Plame case)

Unfortunately, those threads were not very informative.

So tell me: what the hell is going on?

Joe included his wife's name in a book. An anonymous CIA source confirmed it for Novak. Somehow Rove and the "unnamed source" got involved -- for what reason I have no idea since the info was oh so benign.

Basically more lies for the liemaster.

9. Bad timimg for the "Let's Lynch the NYT" brigade. Novak clears self

seems to be what it is about. He got notice from Fitz that he is no longer under suspicion of anything and he is letting the world know. However, if Novak can out a CIA agent, blowing the cover of her whole spy network and all their contacts (some of whom were killed) without being arrested and charged, then it is going to be hard for the GOP to make a case for going after the NYT.

11. Here's my take, for what it's worth

Novak sang like the putrid birdie we always thought he was at the merest hint that Fitz had his fat ass in a sling and now that Fitz has gotten what he wanted from him, he has finished with him. Novak, in his self-important, pathetic way, is trying to pretend he was something other than peripheral to Fitz's case and is now "free" to spill the "real" beans, meaning he is going to now try and save his ass by covering for his bush cabal buds by lying, obfuscating, in other words, he is back to his usual ways.

In a nutshell, same old, same old from Novak, nothing new.
