He has my unqualified support for the presidential nomination. WHY NOT THE BEST.

HE OPPOSED THE IRAQ WAR.

HE OPPOSED THE BUSH WAR ON THE MIDDLE CLASS AND POOR.

HE TOLD THE PRESS OFF.

HE ADVOCATES FOR ECONOMIC JUSTICE AND CARE FOR THE PLANET.

HE MADE HISTORY YESTERDAY, JANUARY 16, 2006.

GORE 2008

LET'S DEMAND THE BEST

1. Of course he did.
Why wouldn't he? He's got nothing to lose. And he's NOT running in 2008. If he were even considering it, he'd never have made that speech.

3. His amazing "truth-to-power" speech notwithstanding,
and my great personal respect aside, I just don't think the guy has the stomach for another attempt at the WH. He's been on the sidelines of real power for 6 years now, and would have enormous difficulty building up a "campaign war chest". But, I'd vote for him in a second. SG

5. Welcome to DU!!!
It was. The full text is great reading, logic, rhetoric.

He'll surprise us. I went and I never expected this. It was a shit-kicker from start to finish.

There were no breaks, no planned applause lines, no nothing except a full tilt assault on * and company.

We're all upset her, well most of are, about the weak response to * from day one.

Here's our guy making true and totally devastating accusations about the president. He wants him in jail, that's clear.

HE'S MY CANDIDATE FROM TODAY (YESTERDAY) ON.

6. I have always been on board an Al Gore presidency.
Al Gore is simply telling it like it is. Like Paul Wellstone who served "the little fellers, not the Rockefellers." We have fine-tuned cynicism, and for good reason, but Al Gore is the real thing IMO. I trust him implicitly. All his fiery speeches would be an ASSET. Quite frankly, this crowd doesn't know how to deal with in-your-face repartee.

8. I certainly hope
that Al Gore will throw his hat in the ring for the 2008 race. I think his presentation yesterday was far more than a speech: it was the platform we need to combat the threats posed to destroy our constitutional democracy.

As people are considering what Gore offers the party, I would again strongly recommend reading Vincent Bugliosi's "The Betrayal of America (How the Supreme Court Undermined the Constitution and Chose Our President)," the single best examination of the criminal process that robbed the citizens of this country in 2000.
