5. Look at the arrow, no razor points and looks glued in target tips.

Look first at the arrow itself, the stem is green with yellow and orange "feathers", Second it has a target point, which looks glued in (i.e. can NOT be replaced by Hunting points, thus the arrow is ONLY good for target shooting).

This is a target arrow I suspect from a beginner's target arrow set (an archery set aimed at young teens more than pre-teens). Thus this was NOT a hunting "accident". Someone was either target shooting and came across the bird and shot it, or went looking for something to shoot (out of season) with their new toy (There is a third possibility that someone was target shooting and missed the target and the arrow went wild behind the target where the bird just happened to be, accidents do happen, I have lost a lot of arrows behind targets I missed especially when I started target archery shooting).

While I can NOT rule out someone shooting the bird deliberately, given the type of arrow and the flat lands of Florida, I suspect it was an arrow that got away. The archer probably had made sure the area behind the target was free of Humans, pets and other animals, but such wading birds are know to move in high grass and might have moved behind a target without the archer ever seeing it (and there is a possibility that the bird, rather than flying away when hit, walked away so the shooter may NOT even know he or she hit anything).

My point here is this appears to be a target shooting accident than a hunting accident (Through I can NOT eliminate the possibility of someone shooting the bird as it crossed his target or even hunting the bird out of season with his new target bow).

8. Can't be positive, but it looks like...

the arrow was shot down at the bird. More likely, it was shot way up in the air and nailed the ibis on the way down.

Whatever happened, the odds are the little assshole who did it was bragging all day to his friends.

3. Well, to be perfectly fair...

that looks like the result of utter idiocy on the part of some hunter; you don't hunt game birds with a bow and arrow. Things like this are the reason that bird hunting is restricted to hunters using shotguns.

And I don't hunt, but I don't have any problem with people who do, as long as they do so responsibly. (And I have to admit that I rather like pheasant, venison, and some other meat/fowl not obtainable through other means.)

turkeys don't fly. And they're relatively larger than other game birds. Which makes them rather an exception.

And one can hunt many birds with a bow and arrow. However typically the head, or point, is blunt, meant to knock the bird out of the sky, not skewer them.

Turkeys, geese, pheasant, and Sandhill Crane. You never use a field point, or standard fletching, with the exception of turkey's.

probably just a dirtbag with a bow and arrow. It very well could have been an arrow gone wild, I can't argue with that as I've lost a few in the past myself, but no true hunter would ever do something like this. This is what gives hunters a bad name.
