Lott to announce today on running or retiring
Trent is supposed to announce today in Pascagoula and later in Jackson whether he is going to retire or not.
I'm hoping he retires. This would be a great start at taking back some seats. He took a pretty hard hit personally w/ Katrina and has not raised much money for a reelection bid. The Repubs have been begging him to stay.
Guess we'll know later this p.m. Will let ya know.

1. It would be nice if he did, but I'm not sure he'll retire
Seriously, I think he'll run for Republican Senate leader (I'm hoping it will be MINORITY Leader) after the election.

2. Would we have a chance to take the seat back?
I know nothing about politics down in Mississippi?

8. The rumor is Mike Moore would run for his seat.
He is the Former A.G. who took on the Tobacco cos. and won some big money for the state. He's a Dem and would only get some compitition from Chip Pickering if he decided he wanted out of the House and into the Senate.

3. I don't see him retiring. He is a power monger and can't get enough
It is an addiction to these monsters and they will not stop until they are either locked up or in the grave.

6. then again, he has been kicked in the teeth
by his colleagues, and by bushco. Realizing how much $$$ he could now cash in on just might be looking fairly attractive.

10. Well, IMCPO, it would be the perfect revenge for the repukes
stabbing him in the back and Frist taking his ML roll. Is he revengeful? We'll see. I hope so.

11. If Lott runs it means he knows this band of criminals in the WH have lost
the American public for generation. If he decides to quit, it's because he knows they hold all the power and the American public is useless to stop them.

12. If he retires, does that mean that the taxpayers don't
have to rebuild his third home, like Bush promised?
