"We'll be back here in 5 years arguing standards" Collins@ hearing
We have got to end this war NOW! This is evident. I'm finally getting to hear this hearing on Hamdan from yesterday. This Daniel Collins just sat there and basically argued that Congress needs to get real specific now because regulations around detainees will not go away and we'll still be dealing with this 5 years from now. I didn't get the idea that he was speaking that the dealing would be in a rhetorical sense but that it would be in real terms with real people making up a class known as "detainees."

How can we derail this military rampage through history so the world can catch its breath? I firmly believe that the militaristic nature of our international policy over the past 50 years has led to reactions we are getting from the peoples of the world. How else do you fight back to maintain yourself as a people when you see a huge military slamming down on you? Maybe I'm being naive, but we are creating so much unnecessary pain for mankind and ourselves.
