Giuliani due at fundraiser for Swann
Wednesday, July 12, 2006
From staff reports

Former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani is expected to throw some support in Republican gubernatorial candidate Lynn Swann's direction in King of Prussia this morning.

Swann and Giuliani, also a Republican, will hold a fundraiser at the Crowne Plaza Valley Forge. Giuliani, who has been called a potential presidential candidate, attended a fundraiser last night for U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum, R-Pa., in Pittsburgh.

"Everything that Lynn Swann wants for Pennsylvania, Rudy Giuliani did for New York City," he said.

1. Here are a few critical reminders of Giuliani's real record:

3. In truth, Swann makes Giuliani look like the most competent executive EVER
Swann is an ex-Steeler trading on his football fame from decades past. He is so NOT qualified to be the chief executive for PA that it is laughable.

Rendell has been kicking his ass in all the recent polls and he has a huge warche$t to spend against Swann.

2. The Full Rudy: The Man, the Mayor, the Myth (GOP is all gimmick)

The Full Rudy: The Man, the Mayor, the Myth

by JACK NEWFIELD

Rudy Giuliani was a C-plus Mayor who has become an A-plus myth. Since the atrocity of 9/11, Giuliani has managed to merge himself with wounded New York until the man and the metropolis--and this almost religious event--seem to be one heroic blur.

But in April 1999, in the sixth year of his term-limited mayoralty, Giuliani had only a 40 percent approval rating from the people he governed, who knew him best. A year later his divorce lawyer was savagely attacking his wife, Donna Hanover, while the Mayor was flaunting his mistress in public. He even brought his girlfriend into the Mayor's residence, Gracie Mansion, while his wife was still residing there. They don't allow this kind of behavior in trailer parks!

As a result, Giuliani's popularity plummeted again in the spring of 2000. He was almost a laughingstock when he withdrew from his Senate campaign against Hillary Clinton. The official reason given was the Mayor's diagnosis of prostate cancer, but even conservative writers like William Safire in the New York Times and Robert Bartley in the Wall Street Journal had urged him not to run in pointed columns focused on his chaotic personal life.

In May 2000 Giuliani looked like a control freak who had lost control of himself.

4. You cannot imagine how much most New Yorkers absolutely
detest Giuliani. He is a POS and cares nothing about anyone but himself.

Today's NY Daily News is focusing it's front page story on Donna Hanover, the wife he so badly "dissed" in public with his mistress-now-wife. Donna has remarried and has successfully raised two children fathered by Giuliani and still maintained a career.

The mistress-turned-wife does nothing but trail around behind RG, sitting strategically behind him so she can be seen on camera when he speaks and she gazes adoringly at him. She has had problems in raising her only daughter, who resented RG and started running with a bad crowd.

6. don't forget rudy's first "indiscretion": Cristyne Lategano
"Giuliani's first marriage was to his second cousin, Regina Peruggi. They were married for 14 years, before Giuliani had their marriage annulled by the Catholic church. His second marriage was to Donna Hanover, a reporter and sometimes soap-opera actress. Havover was the city's First Lady while Giuliani was mayor, but she stayed farther and farther out of the public spotlight as Giuliani was widely whispered to be swiving his press secretary, Cristyne Lategano. After Lategano left City Hall, Giuliani took up with a divorced nurse, Judith Nathan. Never one for subtlety, Giuliani and Nathan marched side-by-side in the St. Patrick's Day parade, where the city's mayor traditionally walks with his wife."

10. I'm not Catholic so I find it very hard to understand how the hell a
marriage can be annulled after 14 years. I thought annullment meant that there had been no sex between the two. If RG lived in celibacy for 14 years with Peruggi, then what can I say? But I doubt it. Also, where I come from, marriage to a second cousin is incest.

He apparently screwed around with Lategano and allowed her to keep Hanover away from City Hall for several years. When he finally tired of her, they helped her find a rich husband and got her a well-paying job as the head of NYC Tourism.

That St. Paddy's Day parade spectacle of the two of them (Rudy and Judy)marching together was a sight to see and a moment of pure shame for NYC morals.

9. Swann is a joke. Dumb as a rock.

I first thought he might be able to win based on his time as a Steeler; but everytime he speaks publicly he puts another nail in his political coffin. My Dad laughs he's even tried to run for Governor.
