1. I found this interesting.
<snip>
A spokeswoman for the Republican National Committee, Tracey Schmitt, attacked Gore's comments.

"Al Gore's incessant need to insert himself in the headline of the day is almost as glaring as his lack of understanding of the threats facing America," Schmitt said. "While the president works to protect Americans from terrorists, Democrats deliver no solutions of their own, only diatribes laden with inaccuracies and anger."
<snip>

Somehow I have not found that Vice President Al Gore has ever NEEDED to insert himself in the headline of the day. As a matter of fact, up until now he has been rather low profile. But then again the RNC is probably still upset that he went to the Katrina area, rolled up his sleeves, and was photographed actually WORKING, as opposed to setting up lights giving a bad speech then departing, leaving New Orleans in the dark again!

3. I called them yesterday perhaps
four times, asking Slappy (Prozinski) if he was going to "find room", I guess they did. I read that paper online but frankly, its a red paper in a blue city with very little National coverage. Lee Enterprises is about money, period.
Hi Montana500!

4. Good for you!!
I bet you had alot to do with that, not everybody would make four calls in one day. We probably should be picking up the phones more often. I think all of Montana is going to love that speech!

5. Not to brag but
I am in a constant state of war with the Guessingatit/Gazette. I am on a first name basis with Pat, who is in charge of screening LTTE's. Between Carol and I, we have them on speed dial.
But as a newspaper-sorely lacking. Even today, the Gore article is getting bumped down...figures. We also have a small alternative newspaper-well, it would be but it is run by an "extreme moderate" who, out of fear of losing advertising, refuses to print anything on anything...

6. Well don't knock it too much
Or maybe keep up the good work. I have often found articles in the Billings Gazette that weren't in very many other places. Been quite surprised by it. Alot of the time they seem to have better coverage than the Missoulian, which is really unexpected.
