Heard something interesting and ironic about MSNBC on radio show |

I downloaded a podcast of the NPR show "On Point" about cable news a couple of months ago (right after Tony Snow was appointed as WH Flack.)
It was an interview with Rick Kaplan, the recently deposed head of MSNBC.
I just got around to listening to it. And there was a bit of irony.
Much of the hour was what one would expect. He made a lot of justifications for the crappy nature of cable news.
But toward the end one caller said she was really frustrated because there is very little real objective news anymore that she can use to form her own opinions.
Surprisingly, Kaplan agreed. he added that MSNBC ws currently about to "rebrand" itself, to try and emphasize more actual serious news for that purpose. He added that it's difficult to balance that with the commercial perogatives of the biz, but he thought it was important. He closed with "I think it's important enough that I'm willing to go down trying."
Well, a few weeks later, he did go down. Wonder if that's why he was booted.

1. Well, Tucker now has a prime time slot - TWICE. |

He's a moron, and his show is full of idiotic, meaningless fluff. So I'd say yes, Kaplan was forced out for pushing for actual serious news.
