AP Wednesday report continues to make "Iraqi woman" reference |
http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/news/world/15021491.htm<snip> Al-Maliki was responding to a question by a female legislator about the alleged March 12 rape and killing of an Iraqi woman in Mahmoudiya, south of Baghdad, by U.S. soldiers with the Fort Campbell, Ky.-based 101st Airborne Division who also were accused of killing her family.

1. It seems to be exclusive to the national MSM in my neck of the woods |
our local news, thankfully, reported the victim as a 14 y/o girl and put the graphic of her Iraqi ID up on the screen (the one where she is about 5 y/o. Fourteen is not what I would even call a "young woman." 14 is still a child. It's jarring, to say the least, to hear her referred to as a woman.

2. Interesting, isn't it? They went from 'girl' to 'young woman' to 'woman' |
Next it'll be just 'an Iraqi'.
