Former girlfriend's civil case against WSJ columnist John Fund begins
NY Daily News "Daily Dish": Awkward PR, to put it conservatively

John Fund

The Wall Street Journal battened down yesterday as an awkward civil case began in Manhattan Supreme Court centered on its OpinionJournal.com columnist John Fund.

Fund, a former WSJ editorial writer who also appears as a conservative commentator on Fox News, MSNBC and CNN, is accused of battering an ex-girlfriend.

The bizarre story started in 1999, when Fund became involved with Morgan Pillsbury, now 38, the daughter of another former fling.

As the romance soured, she made accusations of physical and emotional abuse. She has also blamed him for a traumatic abortion....

***

Pillsbury is seeking $515,000 in damages. In a colorful flourish, she also wants her "labor costs" of cleaning his apartment of "larvae … in the defendant's freezer" and "mouse droppings on the floor and substantial filth and grime," a charge pals of Fund find absurd.

Fund was arrested and jailed in 2002 based on Pillsbury's assault complaint, although criminal charges were later dismissed.

1. This is one of the biggest drips that ever lived in New York.
How criminal charges were dismissed against this woman beater is still mystery
I hope Pillsbury takes every last penny from the dumbest dip shit ever to draw a breath.

A real real asshole!

3. What-a conservative
helping his girlfriend obtain an abortion????

As my husband says, "Those good ol' boys who say they are anti-abortion change their tune when their girlfriends call and say they are in trouble."

7. When those RWers get slapped with child care for 18 years
That hurts them where it counts.

Didn't he write a book with Norquist? They were smirking all over the networks about a year ago with their superiority/authoritarianism.

6. There should be some grim satisfaction derived for Ms. Pillsbury, in the
public voicing of aspects of this clown's private life, considering his eternal effort to present himself as a priggish, by-the-letter, perfection-demanding, authority revering conservative.

The very idea she has been able to expose his very unpleasant personal behavior conducted when he believed no one important was watching is hilarious. Good for her, and more power to Ms. Pillsbury.

If it works as it should, she will have defanged this one-man horror show.

Actually, I believe it is Leviticus, the Right Wing's favorite book, at least when they are bashing gays, that is pretty tough on banging mother and daughter. But I think they put it something like "uncovering the nakedness of a mother and her daughter." Ok, here it is, Leviticus 18:

"17You shall not uncover the nakedness of a woman and of her daughter, and you shall not take her son's daughter or her daughter's daughter to uncover her nakedness; they are relatives; it is depravity."

Note that the writer takes care to leave no loopholes - not only do you not get to screw the daughter of the woman you are screwing but you don't get to have a go with her granddaughters either. Just in case anyone starts letting their pecker do the reasoning.

16. More on Fund from the Village Voice, in an older article:
John Fund: 'Hope of Freedom'
Pundit's Assault Charge May Be Dropped

by Cynthia Cotts
May 15 - 21, 2002

Morgan Pillsbury has accused conservative pundit John Fund of sitting on her and choking her, but she and her mother can still praise his rhetorical skills. "This guy is persuasive," said her mother, Melinda Pillsbury-Foster, in an interview last week. "He gets you on the phone and you believe him. He says, 'You know I wouldn't lie.'"

"He's such a good liar," Pillsbury added, "he could walk in right now and he could convince me in five minutes he never hit me. He is the best liar I've ever seen."
(snip)

Asked what she wants from the D.A., Pillsbury's mother said, "I want him to prosecute John Fund to the full extent possible. If the law is going to be effective as a cultural tool, it has to demonstrate to everybody watching that being abusive doesn't pay, which means the victim should be able to go on to live a full and happy life having learned that they can't be abused, and the abuser should learn that it's going to cost them to be abusive." Instead, she fears that Fund will be given a "license to abuse."

Pillsbury-Foster has special insight into Fund, having had her own affair with him two decades ago. Her daughter met Fund in 1998 and soon became pregnant, whereupon he asked her to get an abortion and allegedly told Pillsbury-Foster that the only relationship he'd had with her daughter was to "feed her cat." Pillsbury was so irked, she secretly taped a conversation in which Fund berated her for telling her mother about their affair. The tape showed up on WeaselSearch.com last September, after which Pillsbury claims Fund told his bosses that the tape was a fake, and that Pillsbury had merely "spent a few nights on his couch."

24. yep....but even if he didn't beat her up, she claims he did KNOCK
her up, yes?

if that's the case, then, if she had the baby, a simple DNA test would show who the daddy is.

the mere fact of his impregnating a person for whom he BABYsat is disgusting beyond words

I wonder if he and Woody Allen ever double dated?
