1. These seem to go on pretty frequently around here too... |
|
I used to get asked to buy booze by minors a lot. I would just tell them I'm not 21. One time I did say I was a cop just to mess with them and they ran faster than anyone I had ever seen. If there had been an NFL scout hanging around they'd be millionaires.

2. I went to a house party |
|
Put on by a well-off white, late-30s podiatrist who liked to throw parties for the Latino community in town primarily because he liked his ladies younger and Hispanic. I knew the DJ so I was chatting him up when he came up, asked for the mic, and said something like:
"Okay, everyone. Eventually the cops are going to be called becase my neighbors hate me. But I have a guy down the street with a phone who will watch for them. When we get the message, I'll announce it over the mic, and everyone under 21, I want you to put your drinks down then walk, don't run, out the back door into the garage in the backyard, okay?"
He went off again, and I kept talking to the DJ, and he came back, said something to the DJ then noticed me for the first time. He stuck out his hand and said, "Hi, I'm so-and-so. Nice to meet you. Who are you?" I replied, "I'm Officer James W. What was that announcement to all the underaged drinkers a moment ago?" He noticeably shriveled up and asked in a meek voice, "Are you really a police officer?" It was really late, and I was tired so I let him off the hook. He wasn't too happy with me the rest of the time I was there.

6. Has there been a rash of kids dieing in R rated movies? |
|
In this town, most of the juveniles get their alcohol by either this method, an adult friend or by doing Beer runs on convenience stores. We had 6 go into the emergency room this weekend from a roll-over in the county, 2 had to be flown to Lubbock on a flight for life helicopter, one lost an arm. The beer was furnished by a 22 year old adult. He's facing felony charges.

5. Did you notice the address of Walgreens? LOL |
|
"The young man who nabbed Baca talked to about 30 people as he stood in front of the Walgreens at Coors Boulevard and Central Avenue Northwest."
