Is Bush beginning to turn corner on his approval rating?
It makes no sense to me but the media is trumpeting that Gallup now has Bush at 40% approval. Up from 31% in May. They seem to think that the chimp is turning a corner and finally getting the bounce they predicted a month ago.

What say you? I think it will take more than one poll to give us a total picture. Frankly I don't see why people would suddenly embrace Bush--the situation in Iraq is no better and gas prices continue to rise.

1. I think it's more bullshit being peddled by the media...
From what I've been reading, poll numbers around the country are indicating that anti-Bush sentiment is giving a bounce to many Democratic candidates. If the GOP doesn't soon face reality, they're going to be in some trouble, and they'll probably have to get more blatant about stealing their elections.

2. Low expectations
When Bill Clinton had these kinds of numbers in 1993-94, the corporate media was going on and on about his "failed presidency". Then there was the little mousy reporter who asked him at a press conference in 1995 if he was "still relevant" after Newt Gingrich took over the Congress. Four years later Bill Clinton was still the president with a 65% approval rating and Newt Gingrich was out of a job.

Anyway, the corporate media has set expectations so low for this little spoiled brat for the last 7 years that this can only be spun as a Bush "comeback". Late last year Bush experienced a mild rebound, with one poll showing up as high as 46%, but of course it did not last. And neither will this. I'm not too worried.

17. Clinton's #'s were NEVER as low as Shrubs!
Even the media pointed this out. At the hight of the Monica investigation, Bill's #'s were around 60%!

4. That's just gonna piss more people off
People have eyes... and they're smart enough to
know that what they see going on in this country
does not jibe with the bullshit coming from this
administration, Sure there's the lunatic 20%....
there will always be the lunatic 20%.. but mainstream
America has had ENOUGH of these Republican Crooks.

Bush is bouncing like a dead cat.... he's going down.

Jobs growth is down, the market has been down since May, interest & inflation is up. What was the good news?

10. People can be mind-numbingly STUPID
There's nothing Bush could do... NOTHING, that would make Bush go below 29% in the ratings. About 1/3 of us seem to be mind-numbingly dumb and gullible, as well as servile to power.

11. What with his spin on the economic news,
his so-called "negotiations" with Iran, his claim that Guantanamo should be shut down, and that terrorists will now receive due process, it's obvious that he's doing whatever the fuck he can to get his number up. What is frustrating is that people are falling for it. We are truly a nation of simpletons.

13. Lack of bad news
At least, bad news that can't be ignored by the msm. Frankly, Iraq is imploding and you don't hear much about it in the msm, just an occasional note that another dozen or so died. The next time a Katrina level disaster happens and he F**ks it up again, his numbers will dive again. It is just a matter of time with these folks, they couldn't manage a disaster right if you handed them a foolproof plan.

16. Probably. And the stem cell veto threat will help him out too
Pisses me off they'd use that as a political strategy...but they are. It's a win-win for Bush and the Cons, and they are setting up the Democrats once again. :headbang:

If you don't believe me, take a look at WHO it was that announced Bush will veto it.

Most Americans have the memory span of a fruit-fly. Must be in the water.

No wonder Republicons can run the same tricks and schemes over and over again, and people always buy it.

30. Latest Rasmussen Poll shows approval at 44%.
I think it's rising because Democrats don't seem to be saying much...except wasting energy attacking fellow Democrats and obsessing about a CT primary race instead of how to take back the Senate and House.

Just my opinion.
