I can't stand Rep Northup or her politics but I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. This was just announced on Wave 3 TV, Louisville.

BREAKING NEWS: Northup Son Found Dead in His Apartment

(LOUISVILLE, Ky.) -- An adult son of U.S. Rep. Anne Northup was found dead in his apartment Wednesday, a Northup aide said.

The body of Joshua Northup, 30, was found by his father, Robert "Woody" Northup, after the younger Northup had failed to report to work the past two days and co-workers called to express concern, said Sherri Craig, the congresswoman's district director.

Joshua Northup worked at Humana Inc. and was not married.

He apparently died of natural causes but toxicology results were pending, a deputy Jefferson County coroner said.

Funeral arrangements were incomplete.

Northup is a five-term Republican incumbent from Kentucky's 3rd District. She and her husband have six children.

11. Sure - he could have had undiagnosed heart disease
which caused a cardiac arrest. Or he could have had cancer.

What they mean, here, is that no foul play or suicide is supected.

12. Only 6 Kids, Huh?
More Pro-Birth folks overpopulating the planet with their rich, self-centered offspring.

I bet they have an SUV with stickers on it to show how proud they are at their large family, and ability to procreate.

16. Like I said, I don't Northup or her politics but she and her husband
have adopted several special needs children. I admire her for that. However, I would admire it even more if she didn't use them for photo ops and campaign ads every time she is up for re-election.

Northup is deep into the pockets of Chucklenuts, McConnell, Enron, and the whole Repug Party of Corruption - but I can only imagine the heartache of losing a child. She has my sympathies.

13. Apparently Fatal Enron-itis can be inherited from your parents...
Edited on Wed Jul-12-06 03:17 PM by IanDB1
From a January 22, 2002 Courier-Journal story by James Carroll:

During the four years that McConnell was chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee and in charge of GOP fund raising for Senate candidates, Enron donated $221,000 to GOP coffers and Andersen contributed $65,000.

McConnell's own campaigns took in $4,000 from Enron and $8,000 from Andersen, records show.

Kentucky's other U.S. senator, Republican Jim Bunning, received a total of almost $14,000 from the two firms.

Proponents of campaign-finance restrictions also got money. Sen. Evan Bayh, D-Ind., received $2,000 from Enron and $15,750 from Andersen. Lucas, the only supporter of such limits in Kentucky's delegation, got $11,250 from Andersen, but nothing from Enron.

Rep. Ron Lewis, R-2nd District, was the only Kentucky lawmaker who received no money from either firm. Rep. Ernie Fletcher, R-6th District, did not receive contributions from Enron but got $3,000 from Andersen. Whitfield received $8,500 from the two firms. Reps. Anne Northup, R-3rd District, and Hal Rogers, R-5th District, also got money from both companies, as did Rep. Baron Hill, the Democrat from Indiana's 9th District.

A warning to Rep. Northup to keep silent about something?

Some people say.

14. reps a "Democratic leaning" district; sister of.....
Mary T. Meagher, who won a gold medal in swimming in the 1984 Summer Olympics.

Northrup is close to Bush; receives tons of PAC money; favorite of pro-lifers.

Just some details. I regret that she lost a child.
