As usual, the WSJ has concocted another twisted, greed-motivated, self-serving "free market" myth to justify amnesty and open borders.
No one except greedy Corporatists consider the ability to
illegally hire
illegal workers just a manifestation of "free markets." The "free market" rate for labor is determined by the "free market" labor rate for legal residents of that country. That's why we have laws against illegal hiring. That's why we have national boundaries and the old-fashioned concepts of "citizenship" and "legal residency."
Hiring illegal workers is not even vaguely consistent with the "free market" rate for labor. How would these same Corporate criminals like it if we remove their own numerous anti-free market protections such as patent protections, taxpayer-guaranteed loans, limits and prohibitions on many imports (such as pharmaceuticals), and limits on class action law suits?
They are also in favor of complete non-enforcement of anti-trust laws, unless it applies to workers and employees. Then they stand behind them 100%.
The editorial dept. of the Wall Street Journal is composed of nothing but a bunch of greedy, slimy hypocrites. According to the WSJ, all anti-free market policies that reduce competition and increase profits are good, reasonable, and justified. But any anti-free market laws that
reduce profits are bad, and should not be allowed.
Screw the Wall Street Journal editorial staff. They're nothing but self-serving, greedy slime-balls. They're concerned with nothing but increasing their own short-term profits, at the expense of everyone else.
